Marvel Legends Series 6" Black Panther (Captain America: Civil War)

On to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) figures now. First up Black Panther.

You get the feeling more attention is being given to the MCU figures. First Ant-Man, Thor and now this. Black Panther is a great looking figure! The body is all new. The amount of detail on his costume is astounding. Not only are the lines you see sculpted, almost his whole suit is textured. Simply awesome! The figure has a bit of shine to it and catches the light well. His costume comes across as being of a lightweight, flexible material. Very nice! He's wearing tabi shoes which is very suitable for someone like him. They offer better flexibility and grip on surfaces compared to regular footwear. The necklace is a separate piece stuck on. The paint apps are good. There's some linework done on his mask, arms and shoes. The ears are more visible. His claws are silver too and his knuckles have metal plating on them. One thing I'm annoyed about is his arms cannot go lower to his sides than what is shown in the following pics.

He comes with an alternate unmasked head. The BAF part is the left leg of Giant Man.

The unmasked head has a pretty good likeness to Chadwick Boseman who plays Black Panther in the MCU. The shape of the head looks right, also the nose. The eyes and eyebrows were well painted. His hair has some texture to it.

Here's how it looks on the Black Panther from the Rocket Raccoon BAF series. The head sits too low and makes him appear that he has no neck.

Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot. He can look up and down well. He can bend forwards and backwards a fair bit. The problem is the ab joint will stick out giving and make a bump on his back or front. The ab crunch does not have any detail on it and will look out of place on the exposed side.

Let's get to the action.

Comparison shots.

There are a couple of annoyances I have with Black Panther but overall it's great! I like the look and might even use him with the comics based figures. Thanks for viewing!

Cool that he also comes unmasked.
