DC Collectibles DC Comics Icons The Flash "Chain Lightning"

Heading into a bit of a lull period with regards to new items. But this is a good opportunity to visit some of the figures which I didn't get to previously. Such as the DC Icons Flash.

The Flash is a good looking figure. I think he's got a good head sculpt. He wears a pretty stern expression on his face. The eyes were well painted and I like that they put a bit of pink for his lips. The wings on his mask were sculpted. We'll need to take care with them for fear of breaking them off. The body looks to be new. It's different from Batman's and Green Arrow's which are the two other figures I have in the line so far. There's nice muscle definition. His ab lines look a little bit slanted and awkward to me. I have put the "running hands" on him for the following pics. What I like best about the figure is that his logo and the lightning deco at his forearms and waist were all sculpted. Great stuff! I feel that the logo could have used a bit of outline to make it more visible. The boots were painted. There's a bit of paint flaking at the ankle joints. Again we'll have to take care with the wings on his boots.

Accessories. He comes with and additional right open hand and a left fist, and his Cosmic Treadmill. I would have preferred if he came with two fists instead of the one.

Here's the Cosmic Treadmill. You just need to peg the console portion into the side. For those who do not know the Flash can use the Cosmic Treadmill. It requires super speed to use. There's nice detail on the treadmill. I like the look of the bright mechanical parts at the sides. The running belt is made of plastic. The buttons on the console were all sculpted. We have to be careful with the two antenna when storing. They look like they'll break off easily.

There is a peg on the treadmill. For me it's a little too close to the panel. His hand would knock into it when he is running.

Articulation. He's got a ball joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ball joint torso, ab crunch, ball hips, double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot. He can look down okay but not up. He really needs to be able to look up. As it is he's always looking down when running. I would have liked if he also had some thigh swivel.

Comparison shots.

Good figure. Thanks for viewing!

Great review! What effects pieces are those for the running and skidding poses?
