McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Gold Label Martian Manhunter

Old is gold. Maybe I should say gold is old as you'll need to track down the Gold Label Series of the Martian Manhunter to get him in his classic look.

Here's the collectible card. Click images to enlarge.

I've always preferred the classic look for Martian Manhunter (MM). I'm so glad McFarlane decided to release one. They didn't have much to do to make it happen. The figure is basically a repaint of the regular Rebirth version. The head, body, trunks and cape are all the same. They just stuck on a new belt and gave him the cross harness thingy. Also a collar piece which they stuck onto the cape. I like the shade of colours used.  I feel that his head looks small. It looks even worse when it's enclosed in the collar.

A quick comparison shot. The skin tone is also quite similar.

Here you can better see the details of the figure. His attire has some nice sculpted detail on it. I'm loving the textured detail of his body.

Here's the back of his body. The line across the harness is unsightly. A good thing it's blocked by the cape.

MM does not come with any accessories. We only get the round circular base which we've got many times before previously. I would have liked if he came with some alternate hands. Or perhaps a shape shifted arm.

Articulation. He has a dumbbell joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, butterfly joints, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, revolver joint wrists, diaphragm joint, ball joint waist, peg hinge hip with swivel, double jointed knees, revolver joint ankles and toe hinge. He can hardly look up. He can look down pretty well. He cannot bend forward much. He can bend back and tilt his body to the sides better.

Comparison shots. One gripe I have is his height. MM is supposed to be taller than both Batman and Superman. That is not the case with this figure. He's about the same height as the DCUC figure...

MM is a nice figure. I would have liked if he was taller and had a bigger head. And had more accessories. Thanks for viewing!
