Marvel Legends Series Gorr & King Valkyrie

A God killer and a King.

From the comics Gorr is a being who has a deep hatred for the Gods. He comes into possession of "All-Black the Necrosword" and proceeds to eliminate the Gods slowly and silently. This earns him the title of God Butcher. How his story plays out in the movie we'll just have to wait and see.

Gorr looks menacing. He has multiple sculpted scars on his body. There's some on his face, and some running down the length of both his arms. It's pretty gruesome to look at. The scars have some brownish shading applied on them which helps bring out the sculpt. His fingernails were painted black, which is just about the only other bit of paint on him. The elbows and knees are pinless. He is dressed in simple, tattered sleeveless robes. The robes are textured. The robes are slightly wind-swept which will look good in moving poses. Unfortunately his leg articulation is severely restricted due to his robes being quite stiff and thick. I like that there's some stains applied on the lower portion of his robes. Both front and back. His sash looks overly thick. It's got some nice detail on it.

Just to show you his pants underneath his robes. It is similarly textured like the rest of his attire. There's some strapping at the leg openings.

Accessories. He comes with a cape and a sword. The included BAF part is the right leg of Korg.

Here's how he looks with his cape on. He looks a lot better. The cape is textured and has some nice detail on it. It too is torn and tattered at the ends and has some dirt stains on it. There's a lot of material hanging over his shoulders. It is easy to put on and remove. You don't have to pop his head off for it. One thing though is that it does weigh him back slightly.

He's got a great head sculpt. I think there's a good likeness to Christian Bale who plays him in the movie. Here you can better the the scars on his head. He's also got some purple veins painted on. His eyes are black in colour and has some purple shading under them.

I'm getting some Apocalypse vibes from this figure. And I think the body is a good base for a desert attired character.

A closer look at his sword. If the movie follows the comics then this should be "All-Black the Necrosword" which will make him very powerful. As the name suggests the sword is all black in colour. The grip is dark brown. The blade has a great amount of detail on it. It is textured and has lots of chips and dents in it. The pic could have been brighter... sorry about that. Click images to enlarge.

Next up, Valkyrie.

As you probably know Valkyrie was made ruler of Asgard at the end of Endgame. Aside for the bright blue cape there's nothing to suggest she's a King. She looks more a warrior. I'm glad she's back in her sleeveless look. She looks fiercer this way. I didn't like her look in Endgame. The figure is all new. There's a great amount of detail for her armour. And a good amount of paint apps. I especially like the silver detailing. Her legs are rather shiny. I would have preferred her upper legs to be matte. The boots can be shiny. It'll help differentiate them from her pants. She carries a knife on her right boot which is not removable. I apologise that it's not easy to make out. I'm still trying to adjust lighting...

She's got a great head sculpt. I think the likeness is better than the previous figures. And I think the skin tone is more accurate too. The eyes and lips were well done. There's great detail for her long, braided hair. There's some streaks of blue in her hair on her right side. I looked up some pics online and I guess it's supposed to be like that.

Just to show you the back of the figure. They armour detail was sculpted here as well. There's a hole for the cape to peg into. The cape is attached at the shoulders and is not removable.

Accessories. She only comes with her sword. I wish she came with a scabbard as well. The included BAF parts are the head and mace for Korg.

Her sword turned out much better this time round. It's more solid and will hold it's shape, unlike what we got previously. There's some sculpted design on the blade. It has a bluish tint which fades out to silver towards the point.

Articulation

Gorr has a dumbbell joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel and up and down hinge right wrist, swivel hinge left wrist, ball waist, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle swivel hinge and pivot. He can look up and down decently. There's not much bend, forwards and back at the waist. He can tilt his body to the sides more. As mentioned before there's not a lot of movement you can get out of the legs due to his robes.

King Valkyrie has a dumbbell joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel and up and down hinge right wrist, swivel hinge left wrist, diaphragm joint, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot. She cannot look up due to her hair. She can look down a little. She can hardly bend forwards. She can bend backwards. She can tilt her body to the sides very well.

Comparison shots.

Gorr looks okay. He just have articulation issues. King Valkyrie is nice. I like her the best out of the three MCU figures we've gotten. Thanks for viewing!
