Marvel Legends Series Armadillo BAF

Here's a look at the Marvel Legends Armadillo BAF.

First the parts list:

Armadillo came as a surprise. I totally wasn't expecting him at all. He turned out great! I love the size and bulk of him. There's a great amount of textured detail, especially for the plates. There's also some cracks and dents in them. It looks like he got into a few fights. There's some colour variation for the plates. The top back shell and the plates at his thighs and knees are an orangey brown while other areas are of a lighter brown tone. His skin looks really tough. The torso has a rock like appearance with the sculpted ragged lines. It has some colour variation as well. It's cream colour at the chest and ab area and it transitions to a tan colour at the side. His arms and legs have this blend of colours as well. Very nice! The body has potential to be reused. I'm thinking A-Bomb! Rhino is another good candidate.

Close-ups of his head. He looks really menacing with that mean stare and gritted teeth. His face has quite a bit of facial lines. There's even some crows feet. The plates for his head is a separate piece stuck on.

Just to show how he looks without the shell. He kinda resembles a wrestler.

A piece of plating was stuck on at the elbow joints. I love that they did that. Otherwise there will be a noticeable break in the plating at the elbow joints. They also stuck on some plating at the knee joints as well.

Ooooh what big claws you have. They look realistic. They have ridges in them and I like the shiny dark grey used for them.

The claws on his feet are similar. What I want to show you here is the lack of space between the the foot and ankle. He won't be able to point his feet upwards any further, hence he won't be able to do some poses, such as running. He's already having some trouble standing as it is.

Articulation. He's got a dumbbell joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, elbow hinge, swivel hinge wrists, diaphragm joint, ball hips, thigh swivel, knee hinge and ankle hinge and pivot. He can hardly look up or down. The neck peg is slanted so rotating the head will simply rotate the head at it's point. He cannot look to his side properly. The shell hinders arm articulation. If you want to maintain his appearance he won't be able to raise his arms straight up. Raising his arms will raise the shell as well. The elbows bend about ninety degrees. He can only bend forward and back just a little bit. He can tilt his body to the sides more. The knees bend less than ninety degrees. Because of how long his toe nails are, they end up having to support the figure in some poses  There's not many nice poses he can do.

Comparison shots.

Armadillo is a great figure. I like the look and size of him. He won't be doing a lot of posing though. Thanks for viewing!

Great figure. Nice sculpting. Definitely has some bulk to him. Another BAF home run.
