Hey man. You want to see some action figures? That big rocky grey bloke. His name's Korg. And the distinguished gentleman beside him, he's The Grandmaster.
The Grandmaster looks good. I think he's got a great head sculpt. The likeness has a strong resemblance to Jeff Goldblum. His grey hair looks great too and I like that it has some white shading in it. He wears a robe which extends all the way down to the ground and spreads out at the back. I like the flowy look of the material. The robes is textured and has a nice design on it. I'm mot too please about the visible splotches of paint on the back.
The robes is removable. And now we can get a better look at his inner attire. His neck looks rather thick and long. Fortunately the robes help hide that. The torso is new, as are the arms. The legs reuses those from Nick Fury from the Kree Sentry BAF series. The forearm cuff on his right forearm was sculpted on. The red piece across his midsection is textured. Click images to enlarge.
His fingernails and toenails were painted blue. The paint apps for them is poor. They missed the mark on his right foot. The sandals have a similar design on them as his robes.
Here's a close-up of his face.
Because Jeff Goldblum. I tried out the head on the suited body and it fits.
Accessories. He only comes with his melt stick. The ball at the top was painted gold in colour. I think it was more yellowish in the movie but I don't mind this. One thing about it though is that the plastic used is soft. We'll have to take care where we place it or it'll get warped.
And now, Korg. Korg looks slim... I dislike how his body narrows at the midsection. I went to look up pics online and sure enough. He did not wear that corset piece. It looks like Hasbro saved themselves a bit of sculpting and covered up that area. Really... The other areas look good at least. They did his rocky surface well. His brown pants has creases in them and is textured. The straps on his upper torso were sculpted on. The shoulder pauldron is a separate piece stuck on his upper arm. The "skirt" too is a separate piece and has great detail on it. There's some red paint applied on it and also on his right forearm just like in the movie. How tight did he strap his greaves on? They cut into his calves. The head sculpt looks good. I like his pleasant expression. There's a bit of light shading applied on the front. I think some black shading will make him look better.
Such a jolly guy.
Accessories. He comes with a mace. It looks meh. It really needs some paint. The handle is soft and bends easily.
Articulation
The Grandmaster has a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, (bicep swivel / double jointed elbows / swivel hinge wrist) on his right arm, (swivel hinge elbow / swivel hinge wrist) for his left arm, ball joint torso, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, ankle swivel and ankle hinge and pivot. He can look up and down well. The torso joint has good range and he can bend decently in most directions. His robes restrict leg articulation.
Korg has a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel and up and down hinge right wrist, swivel hinge left wrist, ball joint torso, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot. He can look up just a bit. He can look down okay. His left arm is a little hindered by the pauldron but it can be raised. The torso joint allows decent bend to the sides and back. He cannot bend forward much. The "skirt" restricts him from raising his legs more but he can still do some decent poses. The knees have good bend but they'll look stretched and segmented.
Comparison shots. Korg looks small. He needs a little more height and significantly more bulk.
The Grandmaster is okay. Korg needs more size and bulk. Also a nicer looking weapon. Thanks for viewing!
