Star Wars The Black Series The Bad Batch Echo & Omega (Kamino)

Rounding out the Bad Batch. Here are Echo and Omega.

Poor Echo. He's been turned into a cyborg. You no doubt would have noticed his mechanical scomp link right arm and the black "band" on his head. The mechanical arm looks a little plasticky and I would have preferred if some metallic colours were used for it. Or at least made to look weathered. The arm along with most of his body is new. I think only the upper legs and feet were reused. There's great detail on his body armour. It has quite a bit of dents, scratches and scuff marks on it. Scorch marks too. The legs on the other hand appear rather clean. The belt and skirt piece appear to be stuck on. I can't seem to move it. There's nice detail for the pouches. And they also have a rough appearance. There's a holster on his left side where he can store his pistol.

The head sculpt is great. There's a good likeness. He kinda reminds me of Robocop, especially with those implants and the cybernetic band on his head. The implants were painted silver. The band has no paint detail unfortunately. I recall there's suppose to be some lights on it. Still it has some nice detail on it. It looks to be a separate piece stuck on. The eyes and lips were well done. He has a pasty complexion. There's some shading on his cheeks which helps bring out the detail. Some shading at his forehead would have been nice. He has some wrinkles there which you may not be able to make out.

Accessories. He comes with his helmet, a backpack, a pistol and a claw attachment.

You know I didn't realise when watching the show that his helmet had that opening at the back portion. I only just found out when removing it from the package... It makes a lot of sense considering that band attachment on his head. There's a peg on the back for which you can put on the helmet easier and secure it to his head.

It takes some fiddling to get his helmet on properly. There's a sweet spot where everything fits nicely into place. Once you do that you will then be able to secure the helmet peg. There will will a slight gap on the back of the helmet. There's nothing which can be done about that. The helmet looks good and has some nice detail on it. As with his suit there are dents, scratches and scuff marks on it. The white "99" is not centralised on my piece which is a little annoying.

The backpack is very similar to Tech's. They made some modifications to it. The most notable changes are the gold and the dark grey area below it. There's some sculpted detail at those places. The gold paint wasn't applied well. You can see some slop on his left side.

I'm not sure when he used a claw attachment. It's a cool accessory though. It makes him more fearsome. I especially like the metallic colours used for it. To equip it simply slide it over his scomp link.

The claw section is detachable. You can use some bendy wire to turn it into a grappling claw.

Next up Omega.

There's not much to say about Omega. She's an all new figure. Her attire looks good and has some nice wrinkle detail in it. The colour tones of her attire are a little dark for my liking.

The head sculpt is okay. I don't like the expression. She looks rather bored and uninterested. The pendant was sculpted on. I would have preferred if she did not have it. At least it's painted. I like the metallic silver used and you can make out some markings on it. There nice detail for her hair. I especially like the back where it stands, just like in the show. Some wash on it would have been nice.

Accessories. She comes with a bow, a breathing apparatus and Ruby.

I can't recall when she had to put on the breathing apparatus. Still it's a nice, detailed accessory. It has nice paint detail too. It fits her face well. All you have to do is place it on.

She picked up the bow on one of the missions. I can't recall the name so from Wiki, it's a Zygerrian Energy bow. I think it turned out well. I really like the metallic gold used for the body. It has some nice sculpted design on it too. The energy beam is translucent purple. The tone is a little darker than what you see. My lighting is too bright... The tip of the beam can be detached so we can simulate a mini blast. She's able to hold it quite well.

Ruby is a lizard which the group had to recover in one of their missions. She has a lot of scaly detail on her. The paint apps are good. The eyes in particular turned out very well. Ruby is a waste of a pack in for me. I would very much preferred they gave us AZ instead.

Ruby has only swivel articulation at her torso. Some joints for her legs would have been nice.

Articulation

Echo has a dumbbell joint upper neck, dumbbell joint lower neck, ball hinge shoulders, butterfly joints, swivel hinge elbows, swivel hinge left wrist, diaphragm joint, ball hips, thigh swivel, swivel hinge knees and ankle hinge and pivot. He can look up and down well. The elbows bend about ninety degrees. He can bend back and to the sides a little.

Omega has a dumbbell joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, swivel and up and down hinge right wrist, swivel hinge left wrist, ball joint waist, ball hips, thigh swivel, swivel hinge knees, boot swivel and ankle hinge and pivot. She can look up or down decently. The elbows bend just about ninety degrees. The knees a little more than ninety. The ball joint waist allows decent bend to the sides and back. She can hardly bend forwards. The tunic is flexible so she can lift her legs up quite decently.

Comparison shots.

Both are nice figures. It great to finally complete the team! AZ really should have been included. I guess Hasbro will force us to get it next time. Along with a new head sculpt for Omega I wager. Thanks for viewing!
