McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Batman (Dark Knight Returns)

Here's a look at the DC Multiverse Dark Knight Returns Batman.

Here's the collectible card.

I had to skip the Mafex releases due to budget reasons so I'm glad McFarlane decided to release a set of Dark Knight Returns figures of their own. They turned out pretty well. Batman here came as a bit of a surprise. He's got thigh swivel! I really wish they did that for all their figures. The figure follows the style as seen in the comic. Batman is larger. He has good size and bulk. The head can appear small from some angles. I think it's alright. The body is all new. He's wearing a fabric costume. There's a good amount of creases and wrinkles on it. There's no armour or anything of that sort here. The bat logo is textured. The pouches were very well sculpted and have a bit of dark wash on them.

He's got a great head sculpt. I really like his gritted teeth expression. He can come across as angry or in pain. The teeth and lips were well done. So too the cowl. It has a good amount of wrinkles on it.

Just to show how the back looks underneath his cape.

Accessories. He comes with an extra set of fists, a rope with a batarang attached and a base. The included parts of the Collect to Build horse are the front legs and the tail.

The rope fits well in his hands. I can imagine him swinging it.

Articulation. He's got a dumbbell joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, butterfly joints, swivel hinge elbows, revolver joint wrists, diaphragm joint, ball join waist, peg hinge hips with a bit of swivel, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, revolver joint ankles and toe hinge. He can look up and down pretty well. the elbows bend just about ninety degrees. There's not a lot of bend at both the diaphragm and the waist joints. They rotate well enough.

Comparison shots.

Compared with Mattel figures

Great figure! Some additional accessories would have been nice. Thanks for viewing!

Nice shots! If you review the TDKR Superman, would you mind taking some pictures of headswaps? I'd love to see if the Rebirth/Action Comics 1000 head fits on the TDKR Superman body!

Thanks for the review! It made me decide to get this version (budget reasons here too...). Hope you review that Three Jokers Batman too!
