GIJoe Classified Series Cobra B.A.T (BAT)

The latest wave of GIJoe Classified Series has yet to appear locally. I couldn't wait and got me a Cobra B.A.T from overseas first.

How do you make the old Real American Hero cartoon more exciting? Send in the Battle Android Troopers (B.A.T)! They were the only troops that could be killed. Lol. I didn't realise that until much later when it was pointed out. Poor B.A.T. They look so formidable yet are often taken out with one shot. I think they will survive longer these days.

They will certainly last long in the display as it looks really good. I'm loving the look and the sculpt. The body is all new as far as I can tell. The circuitry on the chest was all sculpted. You can make out the various components. The green backing looks like a circuit board. Some parts of it was painted which is nice. On his back is some exposed wiring and mechanisms. There's also a black panel just below that as well. It carries some grenades on its chest. They too were sculpted on. It's black attire is textured and has nice detail on it. You can make out the seams and the wrinkles. The Cobra logo was well painted on its left arm. The mechanical forearms look really nice. They have rivets, wiring and pistons on them. The gasket thingy on his right thigh and belt are separate pieces. I like that they painted the buckles of the belt and of the thigh strap.

The B.A.T has a nice head sculpt. I like the look and shape of the helmet. It's got some vents on the sides of it, and also a couple near the back. The face plate is shiny.

Close up of the mechanical arms. Very nice!

Accessories. It comes with an alternate battle damaged head, a battle damaged chest plate, a chest plate, a claw hand, a flamethrower hand, a laser canon, a pistol and a backpack.

The battle damaged head is really cool. The face shield is cracked and it's left eye is exposed. The blast it took must have been pretty big as it took out a section of the top covering as well. Underneath we can see the internal metallic housing. It's got some nice sculpted detail on it.

I don't recall B.A.Ts having chest plates. They normally appear with the chest circuitry exposed so these are a nice bonus. They'll be good for keeping dust out. The chest plates snap easily into place and does not drop out easily. The battle damaged piece has a huge dent in it and has a crack and slash mark.

It's weaponry may be used on either hand. Simply remove the default hand and replace it with the weapon of your choice. I personally like the flamethrower and the claw hand. The colour of the weapons match that of it's mechanical arms. The pistol may be used in either hand.

The backpack is all black in colour. There's some nice sculpted detail on it. You can make out some mechanisms on it. All of his weapons or hands may be stored on it. There are two holes on the top and one on the protruding side for you to peg the weapons in.

Here's how the B.A.T looks fully equipped.

Articulation. It's got a dumbbell joint upper neck, dumbbell joint lower neck, ball hinge shoulders, butterfly joints, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, ball waist, ball hips on drop down hinge, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, boot swivel and ankle hinge and pivot. It can look up and down a little. The elbows have excellent range. The ab crunch allows one small click forward and one small click back. There's not much bend at the waist.

Comparison shots.

Great figure! I'm going to need more of these! Hopefully they'll appear locally soon. Thanks for viewing!
