Marvel Select The Mighty Thor Disney Store Exclusive

So I've watched Avengers: Age of Ultron. Don't worry I won't say too much. I quite enjoyed it. There's lots of great action. As a whole it felt more of a filler movie though. I also felt is was quite choppy. There are some nice moments but I won't go into detail. There's only just a mid-credits scene when I watched. There's nothing at the end.

Right now on to the featured figure.

It took awhile but I've finally got this Marvel Select Thor. It's a Disney Store Exclusive, hence the wait. It's also more costly to obtain but it's worth it. It fully deserves all the praise its been getting. It's simply an outstanding figure. I love the sculpt and the proportions. He wears a stern expression on his face. You don't want to mess with him. The eyes were very well painted. His face has a bit of a wash, making it seem dirt covered. His helmet was made of a soft flexible material. The wings on my figure are a little warped. I'll have to sort that out. The flap covering the back of his neck has good detail and has shading. His body looks fantastic as well. The belt and "skirt" is a separate piece and has great detail. Again great sculpted detail for his leg armour. I love the shading all over his attire. It gives it a weathered look. I especially love how the boots turned out. The buckles on them were also painted.  He wears a quite thick, heavy cape. It's textured and it has got a black wash on it. The cape pegs into his chest and is very secure. Despite the heavy cape he can stand very well.

Accessories. He comes with an interchangeable unhelmeted head and Mjolnir. The head sculpt is superb. He's even fiercer than on the default head. His hair was well done and has good detail. It's got heavy shading in it. It goes along well with his dirt covered appearance. Mjolnir has good detail as well. The straps on the handle were sculpted. The top has a bit of texture to it and has nice silver shading on it. Very well done.

Now for the coolest accessory of any Thor figure, a spinning Mjolnir accessory. It's a plastic piece with twelve Mjolnirs on it. A great thing is that each Mjolnir is just as detailed and well painted as the single Mjolnir. Fantastic! To further simulate the spinning effect, the gaps between the handles have sculpted swirls and were painted light brown. Very nice!

He also comes with an extra interchangeable hand which is angled forward so he can hold the spinning accessory. He can also use the default hand to hold it but doing  might wear out the wrist hinge.

He's got great articulation. He's got a ball joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, elbow hinge, swivel and up down hinge for the right wrist, swivel and left to right hinge for the left wrist, torso pivot, waist rotation, peg hinge hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, lower calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot.

Comparison shots. This is a much better figure than the Hasbro version. And I very much prefer the skin tone.

Awesome figure! I highly recommend getting it. Thanks for viewing!
