Star Wars Black Series 6" Chewbacca

On a Star Wars high right now. The teaser for Episode VII came out yesterday. And the Star Wars Rebels series premieres today on the Disney Channel. There will be repeat telecasts over the next few days so check the program schedule if you missed it. It'll also be shown tomorrow (30 November 2014) on Disney XD

Right now here's a look at Chewbacca.

Chewbacca is a figure I had been looking forward to. Han was released back in series 2 and he really needed his buddy to feel complete. I think Chewie turned out okay overall. There's great hair detail all over. The visible layers on his torso is a bit of an eyesore but it had to be done in order to accommodate some articulation. Another minor gripe is the dark brown areas. They were over done. I would have liked if  the different colour tones were blended together better. The eyes on my figure were also painted looking up unfortunately. He carries his satchel bag. The silver segments on the strap were very well painted. The bag is curved so it rest nicely at his thigh and it has some black wash on it.

His satchel bag is removable. You can tell he rarely takes it off as the strap left an impression on his left shoulder across his chest. The strap can rest properly along the impression.

Accessories. He comes with his Bowcaster. The horizontal "ball" portion came separately and you have to attach it to the peg below the barrel. There's great detail on the Bowcaster. And I like that they brushed some silver on it. It makes a big difference. Getting him to hold his weapon can be a little tricky. But once it's on he holds it securely.

Articulation. He's got a ball joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, swivel hinge wrists, torso pivot, waist pivot, ball hips, thigh swivel, swivel hinge knees and ankle hinge and pivot. He can hardly turn his head to the sides. Removing his satchel bag doesn't help much. He can hardly bend forward.

Comparison shots. I like his height.

Great to have the "big walking carpet". Thanks for viewing!
