SDCC 2014 Marvel Legends Thanos Imperative Blastaar

Here's the last figure from the Thanos Imperative set, Blastaar.

This figure of Blastaar is of him in his modern look. I quite like this appearance as I think he looks more powerful and menacing . He's got a great head sculpt. He looks real mean with those down slanted eyebrows and gritted teeth. His teeth actually have a black outline to them. His eyes were not fully painted in on my figure but fortunately you can't really tell from a distance. He's got lots of hair. It was very well sculpted and has good detail. To top it off it's got some light grey shading on it to bring out the detail. Nice! The body reuses the Avenger movie Hulk's body with different calves and feet. The calves are smooth, unlike the upper legs where they are textured. This mismatch is a minor complaint. He looks great overall. The hair on his chest was nicely painted on. I love the armour pieces. They have great sculpted detail and are textured. Plus they have a black wash on them which gives them a worn look.

Articulation. He's got a ball joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, torso pivot, ball hinge hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot. He can only turn his head just a little. His hair will get in the way and his head will pop when you try to turn in further. The use of the elbow joints is restricted by his gauntlets.

Comparison shots. With his hair and armour he looks more imposing than the Hulk.

That wraps up the SDCC 2014 exclusive Thanos Imperative set. All of them are nice figures. If I had to pick a favourite it would have to be Star Lord. He just looks so awesome! Thanks for viewing!
