Marvel Legends Infinite Series Grim Reaper

Enter the Grim Reaper!

Grim Reaper has arrived in Legends form, and on a new body mould too. I'm happy to get a new villain. But I think I'm more excited about the new body. This body has a bit more bulk to it and is larger than the good ol' Bucky Captain America body as you'll see later. The body is not as toned. The muscles here are larger and more rounded, ideal for a mid sized character. Grim Reaper's costume is dark navy blue mostly and has no shading. The skull and crossbones were painted on well enough. He wears a scythe on his right arm. The scythe was made of soft plastic and was warped out of the package. I like the metallic colour of it, and also of his bracers. He wears a nice, flowy purple cape and I like that it's got some black shading on it. It's a little too long though and can get in the way for some poses. The head sculpt is superb. Being wide eyed with teeth bared shows him in a maniacal state. His eyes are green with no pupils and there's a red ring around them. His gums look as though they are bleeding. A very menacing look.

A look at the back. There's quite a bit of muscle definition.

Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, forearm swivel where the scythe attaches to his right arm, swivel hinge wrist for his left hand, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot. The top of his arms is quite large and hinders articulation, especially when you want to pose him with arms stretched out to the sides. To achieve that pose, you just need to swing his arms backwards before using the hinge.

I didn't notice this while taking the pics. The scythe was painted with a darker grey at the blade attachment. It transitions to a lighter grey along the blade. Very cool.

Comparison shots. This new body is a size in between the Bucky Captain America body and the Hyperion body.

Great figure! Looking forward to see what other characters we'll get on this new body. Thanks for viewing!
