SDCC 2015 Marvel Legends Book of the Vishanti Brother Voodoo, Dr Strange (Astral Plane), Eye of Agamotto

Continuing with the SDCC 2015 Book of the Vishanti set. Here are Brother Voodoo, Dr Strange (Astral Plane version) and the Eye of Agamotto.

First up Brother Voodoo. He is also known as Doctor Voodoo which is what he should be called in this costume. The name change came about when he became Sorcerer Supreme. He's got a great head sculpt. There's a good deal of facial lines on his face which gives him a bit of a weathered look. The mask was well painted. The skull teeth at his upper lip came out nicely. I love the dreadlocks. It has good detail. The body is the Bucky Captain America body. He has an open left hand which looks a little too big. The white pattern on his costume was painted on. He wears the Eye of Agamotto at his neck. It is attached to the hood piece of his cape along with a bone necklace. The eye was painted on. I would have liked if it were sculpted. The sash around his waist is a separate piece. Attached to it are three skulls which were very well painted. They look realistic. The cape is the same one that came with Grim Reaper. It doesn't fit well on him. It hangs loosely and the weight of it causes the lower end to press against his legs. The top portion is raised and in turn raises the Eye of Agamotto and blocks his neck from view.

Here's how he looks without the cape. It's quite a neat look. Gunslinger Doctor Voodoo anyone?

Just to show you his left hand. I think it's Spider-man 2099's hand. The lines look like some scarring which adds to the character. Superheroes do take damage too.

And here's a close-up of the skulls at his waist. Very nice!

Accessories. He comes with his staff which has two demonic skulls hanging from the top ends. The skulls have a neon yellow shading which brings out the detail of them. The upper half of the staff is translucent  giving the impression he's using his powers. Cool! My figure has a loose right wrist and he cannot hold the staff up properly in certain positions.

Dr Strange is basically the same figure as the regular version from the Hulkbuster series. Here he was made in blue translucent plastic to show his Astral Plane form. I love the look! It's very cool! If Hasbro makes a new Iceman I won't mind if it turned out like this. I love the silver paint detail. It makes the figure more attractive. The silver eyes and the blue eyebrows and moustache make his face more visible.

He comes with the same mystical effect pieces. Here they are a solid silver white in colour.

Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot.

As for Doctor Voodoo's articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel and weapon (up down) right wrist hinge, swivel hinge left wrist, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot. He cannot look up much due to his hair. The cape gets in the way of some poses.

Comparison shots.

Finally the Eye of Agamotto. It's a roleplay item which we can use. We just need to find some string and we're good to go. Beware Dormmamu, I'm coming for you! Lol. The Eye was well sculpted. The back unfortunately is hollow. I like the shiny gold.

Doctor Voodoo and Dr Strange are both great figures. I like the Astral Plane Dr Strange more than I thought I would. I might take the Eye out for spin. With the Infinity Gauntlet from last year, I will rule all dimensions! Lol. Thanks for viewing!
