Marvel Legends Series Wong (Rintrah BAF)

Oh hey the last figure from the Rintrah BAF wave! I somehow managed to review them all. It's not an easy feat these days. But once I started taking pics I just wanted to do more.

Wong is one of the most wanted MCU characters and he's finally here! This is the look he'll spot in the "Multiverse of Madness". He's now the Sorcerer Supreme so he's got some nicer looking robes. The colours are a little too bright for my liking, especially the yellow. I went back to see the trailer and the colours are supposed to be more muted. There's a great amount of detail on his attire. You can make out the stitching, seams and the embroidery. I'm not sure what the embroidery depicts but it looks really good. There's also a good amount of wrinkles and creases on his attire. He wears a plain, loose fitting pair of pants underneath his robes. It's a little too long for him as there's quite a bit of material bunched up at his ankles. The "skirt" portion is very stiff and it heavily restricts leg articulation.

He's got a great head sculpt. The likeness is superb. His facial features and hair were very well done. One thing about the head though is that it looks a little small.

He's wears a gold bracers on his left forearm. It has great detail and has a cross on it. I'm thinking it's some sort of relic.

There's a gold spear tip like shape on the inside. Maybe it can fire a projectile or something. With regards to his pose I wanted to show you how well he can tilt his head.

The hands are not the same as Dr Strange's which is nice to see. The finger shape differs slightly for his right hand. His fingers are more curved.

Accessories. He comes with a right gripping hand, two hands with spell effects and a sword. The spell effect hands are the same and of the same colour tone as Dr Strange's from the same wave.

The sword looks a little awkward. I guess I'm not used to seeing a sword with a white grip. There's some nice detail on the guard. You can make out the shape of a couple of Chinese dragons on it. There's also the Chinese word for "God" sculpted on it as well.

Articulation. He's got a dumbbell joint upper neck, a dumbbell joint lower neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ball joint waist, ball hips, thigh swivel, swivel hinge knees and ankle hinge and pivot. He's able to look up and down, and tilt his head very well. There's good tilt and bend for all directions at the waist. The legs are very restricted by the skirt. He can hardly spread or raise his legs.

Comparison shots.

Wong is a good figure. He looks great. Unfortunately his legs can hardly be used.

The Chinese New Year is coming up on February 1st. So here's wishing you in advance a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

Thanks for viewing!

That is really cool. Great review. I typically skip the MCU releases but I doubt we'll ever get a comic version of Wong and I just think the MCU version is pretty fantastic.
