Marvel Legends Series What If? Dr Strange Supreme (The Watcher BAF)

Here's a look at the Marvel Legends What If? Dr Strange Supreme.

If you've watched the episode you know how and why Dr Strange looks the way he does. I think he's got a great head sculpt. The likeness is spot on. The facial features were very well done. I really like the look of his face with the heavily sunken cheeks. Some shading was applied there to bring out the detail more. And with the way his eyes look and the dark patches around them you know he's been through a lot. You get a sense of his anguish just looking at him. The hair was well done and has good detail in it. The torso and arms are new. The legs and the skirt piece reuses those from the Marvel Studios 10 Years Thanos three-pack. The design on his tunic was sculpted. You can also make out some creases and wrinkles in it. The arms are pinless and the sleeves too have quite a bit of wrinkles. The bracers were sculpted on. The bright orange sash helps brighten up what his dull attire.

Some close-ups.

I like that they painted some grey on the sides and back of his head.

Accessories. He comes with a right hand with spell effect attached and his cape. The hand is the same one that came in the Thanos three-pack. The spell effect here is darker and more vibrant. The included BAF part is the left leg of The Watcher.

The cape looks great. They actually sculpted the circles design both inside and outside of the cape. What's more they also painted the circles on the inside. It was very well done. The circles on the outside should be painted as well but I don't mind this. The gold trimming has some sculpted detail on it and it too was very well painted. Good stuff!

I have mixed feelings about the cape. I like the look and design for sure. It's the shape which I'm not too crazy about. It's sort of hovering which is cool. It gives it that alive and mystical feel, and it looks great in action poses. My issue is for neutral poses. It looks awkward. The cape pegs into his back. It's not that secure and it may fall off when you handle the figure.

I tried out some head swaps. This new head will fit on the previous body. While the old head sits high on the new body. The cape will cover the neck so it doesn't look too bad.

The new head will fit on the suited body as well.

I also did some cape swaps. Some of the combinations looks pretty cool.

Articulation. He's got a dumbbell joint neck, dumbbell joint lower neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ball joint waist, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, boot swivel and ankle hinge and pivot. He can look up and down quite decently. The lower neck joint only has rotation. It doesn't tilt. The elbows have good range. He cannot really bend forward. He can bend back and tilt his body to the sides somewhat . The skirt piece restricts his leg articulation.

Comparison shots.

Nice figure. Thanks for viewing!

Awesome! I’ve been waiting for this review, I’m really glad you swapped the cloak on the comic accurate strange!

This version of Doctor Strange is essentially a comic accurate depiction of Baron Mordo

Nice pictures...I'm really trying to resist this wave. Captain Carter is the only one I really tempted to get...but this review is waving my fortitude lol.
