Anime Festival Asia has begun! This year is the tenth edition of the event and the organisers have certainly put together a great show to mark the occasion. It truly felt like a proper con! Which I can't say the same for some other events. Featuring numerous special and cosplay guests, lots of events and activities and with very well set up and attractive booths. Check out some of the stuff I saw.
Hello there! It's been awhile. I'm still around. It's just that I've been distracted with games and other interests. I will be back from time to time with toy updates. Or with events such as the Sentosa Sandsation which I visited yesterday. There were a number of really cool and awesome Marvel character sculptures. Check them out below.

Hasbro has been merciless this month. Three series of Marvel Legends had just been released and now out come several of the Marvel Studios The First Ten Years (MS10) sets. Please, please let there be a break... Looks like I'll be putting up MCU figures for awhile. Here's a look at the MS10 Thor and Lady Sif.

I thought Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was a good movie. So much so it made me take a closer look into the toys which I'm glad I did or I wouldn't have known about the super posable Indoraptor. Dinosaur toys usually have limited articulation but not this guy. Seeing the joints on it I just had to get it. Local retail does not carry the the full range so I had to get this from overseas. It cost a bit to bring it in but I think it's worth it.
Star Wars Day has come again! This year's event is held at the F1 Pit Building and is on till 5 May 2018. That means at the time of this post there's only one more day to check it out. For those who can't make it, here are some pics from the first day.

It's been a busy week so this will be another simple post. I still would like to catch Avengers: Infinity War at least another three more times. Lol. It's an awesome movie! I won't say anymore but I urge you to go and watch it as soon as you can if you haven't.
Right. So I've been been trying to sort through my stuff of late and I came across my Spectacular spectacular Spider-man collection. Wait. Let's try that again. Spectacular spectacular Spider-man... Lol. I love the intro song. It was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw the figures. I decided to take them out for some photos since they predate my blog. I did a quick Google and found out that this year is actually the 10th Anniversary of the cartoon! How about that. It's one of the best Spider-man cartoons. A shame it lasted only two seasons. Anyway here's a look at the figures.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) celebrates its 10th Anniversary this year. And during that time a number of figures based on the MCU have been released. I've put together a simple look back at some of the figures through the years. I've focused mainly on Hasbro releases as they are what I have the most of. Note that I do not have all of the figures and some I deliberately left out to balance the pics and for framing purposes. Let's get on with it shall we.
I was a winner in a contest to catch an early screening of "Ready Player One" recently. (Thanks Geek Culture and Warner Bros. Singapore !) The show was awesome! It had plenty of action and was lots of fun. Things get set up very quickly and we are introduced to the VR world that is The Oasis. I'm sure you're aware that there are lots and lots of pop culture characters and references in it. One screening is not enough to catch them all. I'm not going to spoil anything. I'll just say I loved the sequences with DeLorean, Iron Giant and the RX-78-2. Really cool! I love the soundtrack too. There are several familiar tunes. I just wish that certain characters, both human and avatars were used more. I also didn't like the shaky camerawork in some instances and how some things are so convenient.
I was buzzing after the show. So much so I decided to dig out some figures for a shot. The above was randomly put together. Please excuse the scale. I deliberately did not use much Marvel and Star Wars as I cover quite a lot of those already. Besides I was already struggling for space and background paper.
That's right! To celebrate the upcoming release of Avengers: Infinity War, Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark/Iron Man), Benedict Cumberbatch (Stephen Strange/Doctor Strange), Karen Gillan (Nebula) and Joe Russo (Director) are coming to Singapore and will be making an appearance at a show-stopping red carpet-style fan event at Marina Bay Sands (MBS) on 16th April 2018.
The event will be free and open to the public. But do note that there is a capacity limit and you will need to register if you want to go for the event. More details will be released on 2nd April 2018 at 12 noon so be sure to check the website https://www.marinabaysands.com/entertainment/avengers.html#4RErz3mSYELS1wgo.97 then. I know I will. Heck I might even be at MBS on that day just in case.
Here's a look at the Marvel Legends Paladin and Blade. You may be wondering what Blade is doing here. Well that's cause I never did get round to doing a review for him. And since Paladin uses pretty much the same body mould I thought I'll review them together.
