Marvel Legends Series Absorbing Man BAF

We've now come to the BAF figure, Absorbing Man.

The parts list:

Both heads - Venom
Torso - Speed Demon
Metal right arm + normal left arm - Ben Reilly Spider-man
Wood right arm + rock left arm - Morbius
Right leg - Beetle
Left leg - Jack O'Lantern
Ball and chain - Spider-Gwen

The ball and chain is the same one that came with Piledriver and Thunderball. This one is light grey in colour and looks very "plasticky".

Like a number of you I was a little surprised that Absorbing Man is the BAF in a Spider-man wave. He's more associated with the Hulk rather than Spider-man. Still I like that we got him, seeing how at present there's little chance of getting a Hulk wave. I would love to get that Bi-Beast they showed several years back. Anyway I like this Absorbing Man figure. He's got good size and bulk. There are two heads you can use with him. The one shown in the following pics is of his normal look. I think its got a good likeness and has great detail. His left eye is raised. His expression is a mix of anger and disbelief. The body reuses the Terrax upper torso and arms. The legs and feet are new. He's in his classic look with the purple pants and black stripes. His shoes are huge and has nice laces detail. The belt is a separate piece and likewise has great detail. It's textured and you can even see the belt holes. The buckle was painted silver. I like that he comes with several different types of arms, three of which demonstrating his "absorbing" ability. There's a metal, a wood and a rock arm. All have great detail and were very well painted. They even have shading on them.

A closer look at the other head. Again the sculpt is superb. There's lots of great detail. His teeth were sculpted. And if you look into his mouth you'll see that "thing" hanging at the back of his throat. Don't know what that's called... He's looks really furious and is shouting with rage. The left side of his face has turned into rock. There's rocky texture and detail there which is awesome! They didn't simply leave that side of his head smooth. The paint apps are great. The centre has a lighter coat to show that he's in transition. Both eyes are wide open. His right eye was painted looking up. His left eye has become gold in colour.

Articulation. He's got a dumbbell joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, elbow hinge, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, bar joint hips with hinge, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot. He cannot look up. The thigh swivel is very loose on my figure and I had trouble posing him. The pants restricts the use of his ankle articulation.

Comparison shots. A number of comparison shots.

This is a great figure! I don't like the ball and chain he's been given. A good thing he can borrow a nicer looking one from the Wrecking Crew. Thanks for viewing!
