SDCC 2014 Marvel Universe Infinity Gauntlet Thanos & Death

Some more SDCC 2014 exclusives to bring you. Here are Thanos and Death from the Infinity Gauntlet set.

I'm kicking myself with this one. I should have asked the seller to ship the items loose. The clear window packaging is odd shaped and huge! I could have saved quite a bit on shipping. The package was also a pain to open. I was trying not to damage the gauntlet and figures. Still, it's something to see it in person. I now have an idea what it would be like clutching this and the Marvel Legends Thanos Imperative set walking on the convention floor.

Thanos is on the front of the box. On the sides you'll find Starfox, Nebula and Death.

Here's the Infinity Gauntlet. I love it! I think it's the best part about the set. Finally a role-play accessory from Hasbro which doesn't look small on an adult. There's a handle inside for you to grip so it won't drop off easily. It's made of a foam material and well coloured. It's very well shaped and has good detail. The surface of it is textured. The Infinity Gems are soft to the touch and are sufficiently bright. There are visible bubbles within the gems. It's like they are brimming with power.

This is the third Thanos figure we are getting in the 3.75" scale. It is a repaint of the Greatest Battles Thanos, the one with the meaner facial expression which I like. The shade of blue on this figure is somewhere in-between the previous two releases. Unfortunately unlike them, this figure has no shading so he looks a little more animated. You'll have a better idea in the comparison shots.

He wears the Infinity Gauntlet. It's the same as the one which came with the single carded Thanos, except this one is translucent.

Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, elbow hinge, forearm swivel, torso pivot, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge.

I think Hasbro did a great job with this Death figure. She looks fantastic! I just love the robes and cloak. They have excellent detail. They are long, flowy and have cloth lines sculpted in. I also like how the material spreads out at the bottom. The colours are good as well. Her robes are a mix of light and dark purple. The hood portion is removable. And underneath is a creepy looking skull. It was well sculpted. Her skull and her bony hand also have some dark grey shading on them. Very nice!

She comes with an interchangeable head and hand. Death sometimes appears in human form and it's great we have the option of having her appear that way. The parts have long pegs and it can be a little tricky to swap.

A close-up of her human head. My figure has eyes looking to her left... the eyebrows and metallic bluish lipstick were done very well though. I think we can make a Moondragon with this head sculpt.

Articulation. The head can be rotated and her outstretched hand has a wrist swivel.

Comparison shots. I doubt I'll be using this latest Thanos figure, I prefer the other two.

There's the first two figures from the Infinity Gauntlet set. Death is a great figure, even with hardly any articulation. The sculpt is superb. Thanks for viewing!

Great review but if you close at the gems in your gauntlet you will see that they are not bubbles but in fact little skulls.
