Marvel Legends Series Toys'R'Us Exclusive Spider-man & Mary Jane Watson 2-Pack

Spidey and MJ! I'm very fortunate to be able to get a set. A big thanks to a friend for helping me get this!

Mary Jane! She's been a much wanted figure of mine. Even more so when she was announced at Toy Fair earlier this year. And now she's here! I'm so happy right now. And also relieved that I was able to get one. I'm very thankful to a friend for his assistance!

Mary Jane (MJ) looks gorgeous! She's got a great head sculpt. Hasbro has really been knocking it out of the park with their female figures' likeness and looks. I love that they added the freckles. You don't see that happening too often. Her hair is a mix of red and brown. I like how the colour transitions. She is dressed in her familiar black sleeveless top and jeans. The body is a mixture of old and new parts. The upper portion of her torso reuses the Invisible Woman mould. There's a hole on the back. The ab area and legs are new. There's nice detail on her jeans. The button, belt loops and pockets were all sculpted. There are also creases and wrinkles. I really like how her jeans appear. The term escapes me at the moment. Is it stonewash? Anyway the middle section is of a lighter blue while the top and bottom are darker. Very nice!

A close-up of her face. The paint apps are superb!

I tried out some heads with the body. I'm keen on putting together a bunch of female characters so they can have a girl's night out. That is if I can find enough bodies. If you're wondering about Gwen Stacy, her head does not fit on this body.

Spider-man is based on his current look in the comics. He is wearing the Spider-Armour Mark IV which he developed himself. I'm not certain of this costume's capabilities. According to what I found online it is lightweight enough to enable him to wall-crawl and strong enough to deflect some laser shots. The eyes and the logo on his chest glows, hence the light blue applied on the figure. I'll say that they managed to achieve the intended effect. The body reuses the "pizza" Spider-man body. The head I believe reuses the Superior Spider-man head. The web-lines on this costume is different from previous ones. The lines are angled upwards. The paint apps are good. The lines came out clean and straight.

Here's a quick head comparison.

Accessories
Spider-man comes with an alternate adult Peter Parker head, a pair of open hands and web-shooting hands.

MJ comes with a handbag.

The Peter Parker head sculpt is based on his recent appearance in the comics. I think there's a good likeness. There's a hint of a smile on his face and he looks pleasant.

MJ's handbag is the same bag that came with Hobgoblin and Green Goblin. MJ's is red in colour. You get the feeling they shop at the same store.

Articulation
Spider-man has got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot.

MJ has a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ball joint torso, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot. She can look down very well but not up due to her hair. Head rotation is also hindered by her hair. The torso joint allows good bend to the sides and back.

Comparison shots.

Both awesome figures! I hope the set gets restocked and I hope that you too will hit the jackpot! Thanks for viewing!
