Can Peter come out and play?
I've been wanting a new Eddie Brock Venom figure to use with the 6" scale figures. I love the Marvel Select version but that one is too tall. This one for me is still not it unfortunately. That's due to the body he's on which I think is not right for him. The body reuses the Anti-Venom body. Come to think of it, this makes it the third Eddie Brock character to use the same body. While the body is big and and has bulk it doesn't have the right shape and the articulation doesn't allow for too many flexible poses. I feel the legs should be longer. The head sculpt is okay. He spots a sinister grin. The teeth were painted on and it looks pretty good I must say. It was very well done. The paint apps for the eyes is poor. The white exceeded the sculpt and has gone onto the surrounding black areas. It is quite noticeable to my annoyance. The spider logo was well painted apart from one disjointed line on his chest.
Accessories. He comes with an alternate open mouth with tongue head and a pair of fists. The heads of the BAF Absorbing Man are included here.
I like the open mouth head more than grinning one. He looks more menacing and seems angry. The forehead has some wrinkled up symbiote. The teeth were sculpted here and looks much better. The tongue sticking out is typical of his later looks. The shade of green for his slime / saliva is not doing it for me. I think it's too bright and looks exactly what it is, paint.
Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot.
Comparison shots. I prefer the MS and Spider-man Classics version over this.
This is a decent figure. Thanks for viewing!
