DC Collectibles Batman: The Animated Series (BTAS) The Penguin

Here's a look at the DC Collectibles BTAS Penguin.

The Penguin is a great looking figure. I like the shape and size of him. It's pretty accurate to how he appeared in the show. He's got a great head sculpt. The head looks a little too big but I think it's okay. He wears a pissed off expression on his face. I like the way they did the eyes. His right eye is bigger than his left to give the magnifying effect of his monocle. The monocle is a transparent piece which is pegged and stuck just underneath his eye. Very well done. The hair turned out nice. His hat is not removable. The colours of his attire is accurate and the paint application is good. There's just a small mark on his collar. And also quite a noticeable spot on his left fist. My figure is rattling for some reason. Hopefully the joints don't break any time soon.

Accessories. He comes with two extra pairs of interchangeable hands (one relaxed and one gripping), a closed umbrella, an opened umbrella in two parts, a spoon, a teacup, a base and stand. He can hold the teacup well by it's handle. The spoon not so well. The umbrellas can be held properly, you just have to adjust the handle in his hands. The stand isn't required as he can stand very well.

Articulation. He's got neck rotation, ball hinge shoulders, elbow hinge, swivel hinge wrists, peg hips and ankle pivot. He can only turn his head slightly. His hair hinders it. He can only lift his legs just a bit and the ankle pivot is pretty useless.

Comparison shots. I think he's a little too short. Maybe the legs could be longer so that the top of his hat reaches the level of Batman's shoulder.

The Penguin is a great figure for display. Thanks for viewing!

My figure stands fine. Maybe you got a piece with poor feet.

The spoon fits in his left "fist" theres a slight gap for wedging it in there.
