DC Collectibles Batman: The Animated Series (BTAS) Robin

Just out this week the DC Collectibles BTAS Robin.

Robin is part of Series 2. If I recall correctly, I think it was supposed to be released back in January but got delayed so quality improvements could be made. So is the figure better? I'll say so. It definitely feels better and there are no stuck joints. But most significantly of all there are no visible joint pins!

Robin looks really good. It's like he just stepped out from the show. Love the head sculpt. True to the show he's spotting a smile.  He was confident and enthusiastic with the whole crime fighting gig in the early episodes. The body looks a little off to me. Maybe he's wearing his belt a little too high. The paint apps is a mixed bag. The strips on his chest and the logo were well painted. On the other hand there's quite a bit of  red which has got onto the belt. It's the same issue with the cape. The yellow has got onto the outer black edges.

Accessories. He comes with two extra sets of hands (one set relaxed and the other gripping type), a left hand holding his grapple gun, a separate grapple gun, a rope with weights at the end, an extra cape and a base. The separate grapple gun can be held in his relaxed hands somewhat. It's too big for the gripping hands. The rope is the kind he throws to trip up or tie a villain. It's made of a rubbery material and is far too short to be of good use. The cape like the other one has yellow paint at the black edges.

Here's how he looks with the other cape. This one has it draped more over his right shoulder. It hinders arm articulation a little.

Articulation. He's got a ball joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, forearm swivel, swivel hinge wrists, waist rotation, peg hinge hips, knee hinge, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot. The head articulation is good. He can look up well and down decently. He can even cock his head.

Comparison shots. I can't quite recall but I think Robin is a little too short.

Good figure. With the quality improvements this line is really starting to take off. Thanks for viewing!

Awesome review, the rope accessory seems effectively useless. Otherwise this looks like another great addition to the line. I hope they get around to making a batman beyond figure if the line continues to do well. Keep the great reviews coming!

@ Privy - Thanks! I would also love if they got round to be Batman Beyond, especially the villains. We hardly got any from the Hasbro line.

@ Hobgoblin - yup!
