McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Batman Beyond (Standard Version)

Cue the theme song.

The collectible card features the same toy image as on the back of the package. I haven't opened a McFarlane DC Multiverse figure in awhile. I'm not sure when they changed it. Previously it would feature an image from the source.

This is the standard version of Batman Beyond. There's another version which is a Target exclusive. That figure comes with a covered mouth, two accurate looking batarangs and the torso piece to build the Joker-Bot.

This standard release features him with his mouth showing which I prefer. I know him best from the cartoon and this is the way I remember him. I have not read any of the comics so I'm not up to date with his development. They look to have made some adjustments to his suit. It looks more armoured. His mask looks more like a helmet now with the sculpted lines at the side of his head and around his mouth. From the Target version I gather he has an inbuilt gas mask, hence the design. I like his expression. The eyes are narrowed and he looks pretty mean. The body looks good. There's good muscle definition. He has thick looking bracers on his forearms. They have some nice detail on it and have the blades extending from them. The belt design looks to have changed as well. It now has more of a V shape look.

With the wings hanging on his back it reminds me of the very first 5" Batman Beyond figure. They functioned similarly too. The wings have swivel and can be moved up and down. The wings are not supposed to be visible all the time though. When not in use they retract into the suit. We can't do that with the figure obviously. The wings are pegged on tightly and will not come off just like that. You'll need to put the figure in some hot water and then pull out the wings. And voila! Now we have him without the wings. The only thing is that he'll have a big hole on his back.

Some close-ups of his head.

There are pegs on his bracers which peg into the slots o his wings.

In this way the arms will stay together with the wings.

It has its limitations. His arms cannot go as high as the wings can. You can raise his arms and turn the bicep to try and peg it but this will make the arms look awkward.

Accessories. He comes with a batarang, a pair of gripping hands, two jet effect pieces and a flight stand.

The batarang is designed similar to the logo. It's not accurate and comes across more like a paperweight. If you want the accurate looking batarangs you'll have to get the Target exclusive figure.

I tried on those from Mattel's DC Multiverse figure. They are loose in his hands and will drop out easily. I don't mind using them though. It looks good enough.

I really love the jet effect pieces. There are two thrusters on his boots and they made the effect pieces to cater for that. One jet pegs into the peg-hole while the other goes over the other thruster. Nice!

Flight poses will look great with them!

Articulation. He's got a dumbbell joint neck, ball hinge shoulders. up and down movement at the shoulders, butterfly joints, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, revolver joint wrists, ball joint torso, ball waist, peg hinge hips with a bit of swivel, double jointed knees, revolver joint ankles and toe hinge. He cannot look up as much as I like him to for flight poses. He can look down well. He cannot really bend forward much. He can bend back more. He can tilt his body to the sides well.

Comparison shots.

Great figure! Hopefully they'll release an unmasked head to go along with the figure. Thanks for viewing!

Dude, you got the Mattel Multiverse Batman Beyond of the Lobo CnC wave? How come you haven't reviewed it here?

@foldabotZ - I got it quite some time after it was release and I'm normally occupied with newer/current figures.
