Marvel Legends Series Taskmaster (Crimson Dynamo BAF)

Here's a look at the Marvel Legends MCU Taskmaster.

Taskmaster is a cool looking figure. I think they designed him really well. I like how they gave him his skull like appearance. It's actually a helmet with giant black lenses and sculpted teeth on the front. The combination works really well especially with the hood. The metallic paint helps it stand out and he looks fearsome and menacing. The hood was stuck on which is a shame. I would have loved to have him with just his helmeted look. The body is all new. There's a good amount of sculpted detail. He wears quite a bit of protective armour. Aim for the non shiny areas and you should be able to do some damage. Lol! There are wrinkles on his attire, even on the joints. Some areas are also textured. Nice! The belt is a separate piece. He carries a pack on his back. It's just there and not functional. I would have liked if it were able to hold some of his weapons. I do like that it has some paint detail. One thing I don't get is the "scarf". It's only on the front side and then stops at the shoulders. It's just awkward.

In case you didn't know Taskmaster has the ability to mimic his opponents. That's why he comes with some of these accessories. There's a set of gripping hands, a set of claw hands (Black Panther), a sword (might be his own skill set), a shield (Captain America), an arrow and a bow (Hawkeye). The sword looks really nice. It has quite a bit of sculpted detail on it. I'm not sure what the hole in the handle is for. To peg somewhere perhaps but I don't see anywhere on his body to put it. The blade portion is orange in colour. I'm guessing it heats up or something. It's going to be awhile before we can find out.

I've heard complaints of the shield being too small. But if you were to watch the trailer it is small in size. Certainly smaller then Captain America's so this is okay to me. If you think about it the smaller size works for him since he's probably carrying other weapons as well. Having said that it is disappointing that the figure has nowhere to store any of his weapons on his person. You would have thought there would be a peghole or something.

The bow is new. I like the look of it. It just seems more modern than Hawkeye's. The gun metal colour probably has something do with it. There's a little slot for the arrow. The arrow can stay on the bow without additional support and this helps with posing. The arrow too is new. Check out the curved shape of the arrow head. It seems like it'll "drill" deeper. Wouldn't want to be hit by it!

Below is about the best I can put him shooting the arrow. Just ignore the string.

His right hand has the trigger finger so you can equip him with guns if you like.

Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, butterfly joints, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot. He cannot look up or down much due to the hood. Head rotation is is also a little restricted because of it and the scarf. The butterfly joints are not very usable. Even after forcing it, it will still spring back to its neutral position. He's got a great ab crunch. He can bend forward really low. Something like two and a half clicks. It doesn't actually click, I'm just trying to give you an idea. He can bend backwards about one click.

Comparison shots.

Great figure! He's got great articulation. And you got to love the number of accessories he comes with. I just wish he came with an additional helmeted head. Thanks for viewing!

This is a cool new design for a character I always liked. Wish a BAF part came with him instead of that other unknown guy in the set. I'd like a Taskmaster and the BAF but not that other guy.
