Marvel Legends 80th Anniversary Captain America

Here's a look at the Marvel Legends 80th Anniversary Series Captain America.

It's great to get a new classic Captain America figure. And one with sculpted scale mail I might add. But you know what, I think I prefer the figure from the Red Onslaught series even if it doesn't have the scale mail. For one I prefer that blue tone. And I feel the metallic paint used for the upper torso on this new figure gives it more of a modern appearance. Then again this is based on Alex Ross's work so it is accurate to that. Hmm... I'll make a decision which to use another time. Cap has got a great head sculpt. They absolutely nailed it. I love the look! The paint apps are okay. There's some minor bleeding at his mask. The torso, upper arms and hips are new. The forearms and legs reuses those from Wolf Cap. The legs are slightly bigger than the hip area and they jut out a little bit at the thigh joints. As mentioned the scale mail was sculpted. I like that they even sculpted that little bit at the bicep area. It just makes it look better. The paint apps for the star on his chest is poor. It looks like there's a fingerprint on it.

Accessories. He comes with an alternate serious looking head, an extra pair of fist, a shield throwing effect piece and his shield.

The alternate head (below right) is similar to the default head. His lips are more pressed together here. He means business. The eyes were not properly painted. They were painted towards the extreme ends and are quite far apart.

I would have liked if he came with an unmasked head. Fortunately we do have some options with regards to that. The Commander Rogers head may be used. It sits a little high though. Horrible eyes...

The End Game Cap head may be used as well but it's quite a tight fit.

We've seen the shield throwing effect piece before. It's not a very usable piece.

The shield likewise we've seen previously. It utilises the peg and clip system. He may carry the shield on his back. The straps from Wolf Cap may be used to complete the look.

Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, boot swivel and ankle hinge and pivot. He can look up and down very well. The ab crunch allows a decent click forward and one click back. A gap will appear at his midriff when he arches back fully. He's able to spread his legs wide.

Comparison shots.

Great figure! Thanks for viewing!

@De zhang:
1) I'll use both. One classic team and one modern team. If I had to pick just one I'll use Cap Wolf.
2) Pizza Spider-man.

Cool figure. Not sure if I need another Cap, but then can you ever really have too many Captain Americas?

Hi. Do you think there's a way to remove the swivel attach-and-clip at the back of the cap's shield?
