Star Wars The Black Series 6" Tusken Raider

"The Sand People are easily startled, but they will soon be back, and in greater numbers."

The Tusken Raider looked suspiciously neat when I removed him from the package. The reason for that is they tucked his soft goods robes in his inner robes. Doing so created a major crease in his robes as you'll see in the pics. There was also a band around his body which created another crease...

The soft goods robes unfolded is of a good length. I like that it has a pattern on it and it gives the Tusken Raider a more realistic appearance. The frayed edges of the robes adds to that. I think the head sculpt is superb. There's lots of great detail. The wrappings were all sculpted and are textured. Various spikes protrude through the wrapping. There's also nice detail for his "snout" and mouth. To top it off, some black shading was done. Very nice! There's a neck breather around his neck. The soft goods robes are tucked into it which helps keeps it in position. His inner robes too have good detail. There are creases and wrinkles and it is also textured. One thing though and that is the lower portion of the inner robes is quite stiff and restricts leg articulation. The bandoliers and pouches were sculpted on and have painted detail. There's lots of work put into this figure which is fantastic!

Underneath the inner robes. His pants are textured. There's great sculpted detail for his boot wrappings which also have black shading on them. Nice!

Accessories. He comes with a rifle and a Gaffi stick with three different mace ends. You just peg whichever mace you like to the L portion. This is great for giving the Tusken Raiders some variety. I did a search online. If I'm not wrong the silver mace end is carried by veteran warriors and leaders.

There's great detail on the rifle. The metal bits are all sculpted and the wooden body is textured. I love that the metal parts are all painted. The rifle takes some fiddling to fit in his hand. He unfortunately cannot use it properly with both hands.

Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ball joint waist, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot. He can only look down and up just a bit. The neck breather restricts the joint. The ball joint waist only allows a little bit of bend forwards. He can bend backwards more. Leg articulation is restricted by the stiff inner robes. There's not many poses he can do.

Comparison shots.

The Tusken Raider is a great looking figure. There's lots of great detail. And he comes with his key accessories. I just wish he were more poseable. Thanks for viewing!
