I was back for Day 2 of AFA13. The place was packed! You could hardly move in the exhibition hall. I felt ill after an hour or so of inching around. I had intended to visit the stage area so I decided to head there early. It was crowded there as well but at least I could sit down.

Thor: The Dark Work Dark Elf

I've watched Thor: The Dark World. I found it entertaining and enjoyable. It had a Lord of the Rings meets Star Wars kind of feel. Some parts were a little too convenient but overall it's a good show. I hate the ending, in a good way that is. I'm desperate to see what happens in the next installment. There are two end credit scenes, do watch out for them.

Local pop culture show sees growth in various aspects

Singapore, 9 September 2013 – The sixth edition of Singapore Toy, Game and Comic Convention (STGCC) experienced a spike in numbers across the board this year. The most significant increase lies in the show attendance. Drawing close to 40,000 local and regional visitors over the weekend of 31 August and 1 September, STGCC has seen a compelling growth from 35,000 last year.

I said it before, I'll say it again. This was the best STGCC ever! I would have been happy with just the toys alone. Yes there was an overdose of Iron Man but what fantastic displays there were. Play Imaginative revealing their whole upcoming lineup at one go was amazing. I don't think that's been done in any toy line before. Enterbay with their NBA collection offered something different. And also the Manchester United figures.

STGCC 2013 Update 5: Waltz of The Walt Disney Company at STGCC

The Walt Disney Company will make its highly-anticipated appearance at STGCC as one of the headline exhibitors. The family entertainment giant, which has been holding fans spellbound for decades with its entertainment contents, will bring together popular brands such as Disney XD, Disney Infinity, Marvel Studios, Marvel Animation TV, and LEGO all under one roof at STGCC. Disney’s booth will be peppered with fabulous giveaways during every hour at STGCC, and lined up with exciting activities for everyone. 

Accompanying Disney on its first venture into STGCC is a list of celebrated personalities who invigorate the Disney universe with fans’ favourites. They will be meeting fans, signing autographs and conducting panel sessions at STGCC. Here are a few names already confirmed to attend:

• C.B. Cebulski, Senior Vice President Marvel Studios/Disney, who scouts for fresh creative talents to enhance the magic of Marvel Studios/Disney

300th Post: Marvel Super Hero Squad Collection

It's the 300th post! That was fast. I thought I wouldn't reach it for at least another 3 months. Can't say I'm too surprised though. Instead of a few I've been putting up almost all the figures from a new wave. By posing and taking shots of the figures I find I appreciate them more. It used to be putting them in the shelf or just bagging them after fiddling with them for awhile. I've also attended more events in recent times. There's not much to do during the weekends so I may as well go for these events for a change. I'm liking Japanese pop culture more and more.

Some site news. There's some problems with the formatting of my blog. I used to be able to put two vertical pics side by side. Majority of the older posts are affected and if I try to correct it, something else goes wrong. So for future posts, the images will follow one after the other.
