The Revoltech figures were released at just the right time. I happen to be watching Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood on Animax. It's currently still screening on weekdays at 1130pm. Here's a look at Edward Elric.
He comes with a good number of interchangeable parts and accessories. They include 3 more faces with different expressions, 3 hands, his Automail arm with an open hand and closed fist, an automail blade, a ripped piece of clothing which attaches to his automail arm and 3 blue transmutation effect pieces. You can keep the accessories in the orange box provided. I personally just replace everything back in the box.
A stand and a "stomp" effect base is also included.
This is a great figure. The likeness is good. I only like 3 out of the 4 faces provided though. The default face with the slight frown looks off to me. There's a joint at his upper torso. The top half of his shirt tends to flip open, revealing a gap between upper and lower torso. Its just a minor gripe. It gets annoying when you're posing the figure to take photos but once you got it down and in your display, its fine. I think his coat is a little too bulky. Again its another minor gripe. Once he's in action poses you'll like it. The paint is great overall. One thing I don't like is the touch of white on his eyes near his nose. It cuts the outline of his eyes. That's okay but the white should not overshoot the border.
Closeup of his faces.
Don't let him catch you referring to him as short...
He's got great articulation. Most of the articulation points are Revoltech joints, except for his knees. There's only a hinge joint there, possibly for aesthetic purposes. I think its better this way, otherwise we'll see the ball shaped joints there, like at his elbows.
Here are more pics. You can click them to enlarge.
Some comparison shots. He's slightly taller than a figma.
And of course shorter than Marvel Legends and DC Universe Classics.
Check back soon for Al. Thanks for viewing!
