Marvel Legends Series X-men Movie 20th Anniversary Magneto & Professor X

Here's a look at the movie versions of Magneto and Professor X.

This is the James McAvoy Professor X. His look is based on his appearance in X-men: Age of Apocalypse. That's where we see him lose his hair. The head sculpt is good. I think there's a good likeness. I've an issue with my figure and that is his lips. They messed up the paint somehow. It looks like his lipstick is smudged or something. The body reuses the Chameleon body with a new jacket. It's got a vest sculpted with it. Another thing which is new is his right hand with fingers extended. It's different from the ones we got before.

Accessories. He comes with Patrick Stewart's Professor X head, a pair of open hands, a right gripping hand ad his wheelchair. The open hands are new.

Close-ups of the heads. McAvoy's smudged "lipstick" is quite annoying. The Patrick Stewart head is decent. There's some likeness. He looks rather old. There's quite a bit of wrinkles and facial lines on his face. I think they might have based his look from Days of Future Past. The facial features were painted well here. One thing about this head is that it sits high on the neck peg. The McAvoy head sits better.

The wheelchair comes in several parts and will need to be put together. The wheelchair is a standard, ordinary one which is not what he had in the movie. His was the motorised one with the X wheels. I'm a little disappointed with it but on the other hand other characters may use this wheelchair and not look like they took Professor X's. The wheelchair comes across rather plasticky and needs some metallic paint on it.

Here's how he looks in the wheelchair.

I think the best thing about this figure are the open hands. With them he's able to faceplam. Lol. It's appropriate that Picard, I mean Professor X is able to do so.

Magneto now. This is the Michael Fassbender version and his appearance is based on X-men: Days of Future Past. He's got a decent head sculpt. The likeness is there but the expression spoils it for me. I know he's supposed to be angry but he comes across as being disgusted about the something and he looks a little weird. That said the facial features were done well. The eyes and teeth look good. The helmet too looks great. It's textured and has a metallic appearance. It has a bit of dry brushing on it which makes it look worn. And it also has some dents and scratches on it. Nice! The body is all new and has great detail on it. Majority of his torso is textured. The arms and legs are the pinless sort. There's nice sculpted detail on his gloves, pants and boots. His cape looks good. I like the shape and how it drapes down his back.

Here's how he looks without his cape. The neck is really long. Fortunately it's not as apparent with the cape on. And here you can see the textured detail on his back.

Accessories. He comes with an unmasked head, Ian Mckellen's Magneto helmeted and unmasked head, and a pair of open hands.

The unmasked head looks off to me. There is some likeness but only at certain angles. The neutral expression looks better. They did the facial features well. There's good detail for his hair and I like that it's got some shading in it.

I prefer the Ian McKellen head sculpts over the Michael Fassbender ones. These have a better likeness. The helmet is different from the one worn by his younger self. It looks good. I'm not too happy about the noticeable line of the swirly plastic used on top. Also the helmet is off-centered on my figure. It's quite annoying. The likeness of the unmasked head is good. It just needs a little more paint and I think it'll look even better. And the hair needs to be stuck on better. This costume is not what Ian Mckellen wore but we'll have to make do for now.

Articulation

Professor X has a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot. Due to the vest, he can hardly bend forward or back.

Magneto has a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ball joint torso, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot. He can look up and down well. He can bend forward a little bit. He can bend back and to the sides more.

Comparison shots. I'm not sure where my old Toy Biz X-men movie Magneto went to so I can't compare that for you.

Both are nice figures. I like that we got the different head sculpts. Thanks for viewing!

That Xavier Body is perfect for the Jameson head that come with the Chameleon a few years ago.

Love the group chat session at the end. Glad we have a Fassbender Magneto.

@Tom Boy - you're right! I was using Klaue previously. I think I'll switch to this body.

@GIjigsaw - Thanks! I'm glad too. Wish the unmasked head were better.
