Marvel Legends Series Talos & Nick Fury (Kree Sentry BAF)

Here's a look at the Marvel Legends Talos and Nick Fury from the Kree Sentry BAF series.

I don't know anything about about Talos. So from the back of the package, he is described as a cunning spy and a master of shapeshifting. Not a lot of info there... Anyway the figure looks decent and has a good likeness going by the glimpse we got of them in the trailer. There's great sculpted detail in the head sculpt. There's a lot of facial lines sculpted. The ears I feel are too close to the sides of his head. I would have liked them to stick out more. I don't think you can see it but his eyes are actually dull gold in colour. He has faded purple markings on his face. He is wearing a long coat of sorts. It looks a little bulky on him. It is a separate piece and has great detail on it. It restricts articulation though. A good thing it is removable.

Talos looks pretty good without the coat. Which isn't always the case when the coat is removed. The torso looks a little too rectangular but we can put that down to the thick, padded looking down vest. The proportions look okay to me and the colours match. There's nice detail on his attire. You can see the pattern on it and also wrinkles. He wears a shoulder pad on his left side and on it is a silver logo which I think is to signify rank. His hands are quite large and has long fingers. The ab crunch may now be used without the coat on.

Next up, Nick Fury.

The Captain Marvel movie is set in the 90s and so we have younger looking Nick Fury which the figure is based on. He still has his hair, and both eyes. The head sculpt is great. I looked up some images of Samuel L. Jackson in his younger days and the likeness is good. He looks a little grumpy here. Gloss paint seems to have been used for his eyes. I don't know if it's intentional or not. It makes him look like he's tearing up. His lips also has a shine to them. There's nice sculpted detail for his hair. It just needs more paint as some of the base flesh tone is showing in patches. The body comes as a surprise as he's on a mostly new body. Only the shoulders and forearms were reused. His torso has sculpted holster on them. The tie is worn looser on this body. There's not enough flesh tone painted at his neck and you can see that there's still a lot of white showing. The pants is new. It has quite a bit of wrinkles in them. The pants legs are a little shorter, allowing his feet to be raised more. It makes for better posing.

Just to show you the holster. On one side you have the clips and the other the holster.

I found that Nick Fury can lean forward more on his foot than the previous suited body.

Accessories

Nick Fury comes with a pistol and a chained up Goose, the cat. The included BAF piece is the right arm of the Kree Sentry BAF.

Talos only comes with the left leg of the BAF.

Goose here is shackled. It kinda reminds me of Loki at the end of Avengers, with the mouthpiece and all. There's nice detail on mouthpiece and chains. There's also a bit of paint detail. The fur detail is great. The fur of the shackled Goose is of a slightly darker tone than the one that came with Captain Marvel in jacket.

There's a raised chunk of fur on Goose's back.

It's for Nick or other characters to hold him like so. Poor Goose... Nick Fury can only hold him as follows in his right hand. He's unable to do so with his left.

Articulation

Talos has a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot. He can look up and down well. The elbows have very good bend to them. The ab crunch has a very good range too. He can bend forwards and back very well. However the center lower piece of the ab crunch will be visible so you'll new to watch your angles.

Nick Fury has a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, swivel at the top of the ankle and ankle hinge and pivot.

Comparison shots. This new suited body stands slightly taller than the previous one.

Both nice figures. I prefer Talos without his long coat and am most likely to keep him that way. Thanks for viewing!

I like the shapeshifting head swaps and Talos looks great sneaking around!

I had already passed Talos up (two or three times), telling myself that I was being good for not purchasing things in advance of a film that I have yet to see. Yet, based both on this review (plus the really nice accompanying photographs) and finding out the actor who will portray him, I caved. I purchased him yesterday. Argh.
