Marvel Legends Series Mystique (Walgreens Exclusive)

Here's a look at the Walgreens Exclusive Marvel Legends Mystique.

Mystique is finally here and I couldn't be happier! She's a key X-men villain and the Toy Biz version just didn't cut it any more standing amongst the Hasbro releases. Mystique turned out great! I love the head sculpt. They really captured her character in the sculpt. I love her evil grin. I'm fortunate to have got a figure with good paint apps. No complaints from me with regards to her eyes, lips and teeth. Her hair looks great too. There's good sculpted detail, and I especially like how the colour transitions from a light tone at the top to a dark tone at the ends. Gloss paint was used for the dark reddish brown area, giving it a slick appearance. Very nice! The body reuses that of Silver Sable, with smooth forearms. Which makes it annoying that they used the gloved hands with her. The hands I feel spoils her appearance. The skull belt with the skirt is one separate piece. It has nice sculpted detail on it and I'm fortunate again to get one with good paint apps.

Just to better show you the colour transition of her hair.

Accessories. She comes with a mid-transformation Rogue's head, the head of Lilandra, a pistol and a tommy gun. We have seen the weapons before. I just wish they gave them a bit of paint detail.

The tommy gun is a little too big for her to hold. She can manage it but I suggest not positioning her finger at the trigger. Doing so will stretch the finger a lot.

The mid-transformation Rogue's head uses the exact same head sculpt as Rogue. They again did a great job with the blue transitioning to skin tone. Not only does the transition occur on the face, it also occurs in her hair. You can see her dark reddish brown hair on one side transition to a light tone. Neither tone matches the original's hair colour but that's okay. There's also less white streaks and the eyes are gold in colour. The head does not fit well on Mystique's body. She is unable to look straight due to the hair.

Lilandra's head is a welcome addition. But the question is, when's the body going to show up. Or whose body should we use for her. I guess most of us will be using Silver Sable's body given the matching colours. It doesn't look right though and I hope Hasbro will release a proper body for Lilandra. Lilandra's head sculpt is good. There's good sculpted detail on her helmet. The paint apps are great too. The black markings came out very clean and sharp.

Articulation. Mystique has a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, swivel and up and down hinge right wrist, swivel hinge left wrist, torso pivot. ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot. Her hair restricts her from looking up more. There's not much nice low poses she can do due to the skirt.

Comparison shots.

Great figure! Hope to see more of the Brotherhood get an update. Thanks for viewing!

Does anybody have a WIC number for Mystique (should be on the receipt)?

Wow! That is going to be awesome. Love the additional heads. Great sculpt. Please let us get a Lilandra. I like the use of the Silver Sable body to make her.
