Star Wars The Black Series General Veers

A new addition to the Imperial ranks, General Veers.

Hasbro has been really killing it with their last couple of Star Wars The Black Series releases. General Veers is yet another great looking figure. The head sculpt is excellent and the likeness is superb! The cap is removable. There's a better look at the head below. The body reuses parts from Grand Moff Tarkin, namely the arms, legs and lower "skirt" piece. The upper torso and gloved hands are new. The central raised portion of General Veer's uniform is slimmer and narrows more towards the waist. He of course wears the General's rank insignia and carries only one code cylinder. Like with previous Imperial Officers, his uniform is textured. The gloves have subtle wrinkles and creases in them. They are visible not just on the outside, but also on the inside of the hands. Very nice! One more thing I noticed which is different from Tarkin is that the belt is shinier.

Here's General Veers with his cap removed. The head sculpt is gorgeous isn't it. You can make out the wrinkles and facial lines. And the paint apps are excellent. I say that but I just noticed some flesh tone slop on his collar. It doesn't bother me too much but expectations have been raised and you expect better. There's also some nice detail in his hair.

There's something more to be excited about. The actor who played General Veers, Julian Glover also played Walter Donovan in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. This head sculpt is perfect for that character. I'm thinking about getting a figure of him customed. And also a Indiana Jones figure.

Accessories. He comes with a cap, a helmet, a torso armour and a blaster pistol.

Here's General Veers all geared up. There's nice sculpted detail on both the helmet and the torso armour. The paint apps are good too. The armour is easy to put on. The belt strap pegs to the inside of the gun holster so it is secure. Needless to say the blaster pistol may be stored in the holster.

A close up of the helmet. Here you can better see the microphone piece which runs down the strap.

I tried out the accessories with other Imperial Officers. Unfortunately they do not fit properly. Tarkin's head is so big you can't put the armour on the normal way. You'll have to remove his head first.

Articulation. He's got a dumbbell joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot. He can only look up and down just a bit. The "skirt" section of his uniform is flexible and allows him to raise his legs up quite well.

Comparison shots.

Great figure! I love the sculpt and accessories. Thanks for viewing!

The likeness is really impressive - especially with the helmet on. Great photos!
