DC Collectibles DC Comics Icons Wonder Woman (The Amazo Virus)

Just caught the Wonder Woman movie recently. Like most others I have to agree that it's one of the better DC movies in recent times. Love how inspiring she was. I'm still feeling pumped so much so I decided to bring out the DC Icons Wonder Woman.

This figure is based on her New 52 appearance, specifically during and after the Amazo Virus arc. I quite like the look. Her sculpted armoured attire with the subdued colours makes her look fierce. Also you can make out the muscles on her arms and legs. Anyone will think twice about messing with her. The silver sections have a bit of black brushed on them which gives her attire a worn look. The skirt piece is flexible and allows leg articulation. Her head sculpt seems off. And I think it's a little too small. She wears an uninterested look on her face. The paint apps are good and there's good detail for her hair.

You'll notice that she is wearing a harness and a "leather" strap on her forearm. This is to allow her to carry her shield on her back and also to use it. There's a hollow section in the shield which allows it to be attached on.

The shield does not stay on well and tends to drop off.

There's not enough space to accommodate the shield on her back. It gets in the way of her hair and as a result her head will get tilted downwards. They did try to cater for it though. They made a slit in her hair but unfortunately it's not enough.

In addition to her shield, she also comes with an extra set of gripping hands, a sword, a coiled up lasso and an uncoiled lasso. I would have preferred if the uncoiled lasso were longer. Much longer.

I like the detail of her sword, especially for the guard. The handle is rather thin and she cannot grip the sword securely with it. What you can do is have her hold a bit of the guard to make it look better.

There's a strap around her waist which is not removable. She can carry the sword with it. There's a small hook at her waist where the lasso may be carried.

Articulation. She's got a ball joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ball joint torso, ab crunch, ball hips, double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot. She can look down decently but not up due to her hair. There's hardly any rotation for the torso. The ab crunch allows more bend backwards than forwards.

Comparison shots.

Despite some issues with the accessories and the head sculpt, I think Wonder Woman is a good figure overall. Thanks for viewing!

If she was released with the head sculpt on the prototype I would have totally bought her.
