Marvel Legends Series 6" Captain America and Iron Man Mark 46 (Captain America: Civil War)

A double feature for you. Captain America and Iron Man Mark 46.

Iron Man Mark 46 looks great. It's an all new figure and he's a little taller and bigger than what we've got from Hasbro previously. It's got a lot of great sculpted detail. You can never tell how Iron Man is feeling by looking at him but with this version we can. He's spotting the "angry eyebrows". Lol, Okay okay more seriously. One of the more notable changes is the design around the arc reactor. It's something like a trapezoid and it covers a little of the arc reactor. The paint apps are great. It's not often we can say that of a Hasbro Iron Man figure. He's got a mixture of silver and gold deco this time round and I can hardly see any splotching. The plastic used for his armour is an improvement. It feels more solid.

Captain America is basically a repaint of the Age of Ultron figure we got from the Thanos BAF series. I must say I like this darker colour scheme better.

Here's how he compares with the AOU figure.

Accessories. Captain America comes with his shield and the head for the BAF Giant Man. Iron Man comes with an additional pair of fists, repulsor effect pieces and the right arm of Giant Man.

Taking a cue from Japanese toy manufacturers Hasbro has included repulsor effect pieces. I wish they included one more pair so we can use them at his feet. The effect pieces can fit in both his open hands and feet. I like that blue was used as it helps them stand out.

Cap did not come with any additional hands or head this time but we can always use those we've got previously. The hands from the Stealth Cap from the Mandroid BAF series (left hand) are a better match colour wise compared to the AOU ones. The AOU ones are of a brighter tone.

Articulation. Captain America has a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot.

Iron Man has a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ball joint torso, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, and ankle hinge and pivot. He can look up and down very well.

Iron Man's shoulder articulation is restricted by the armour. Shown below is how far he can extend his arms to the sides and also how far he can spread his legs. It's s not bad actually. I'm more annoyed that he can't raise his legs straight up much. The armoured will restrict it. It can be raised higher but that involves swivelling the whole leg by which time the positioning will be awkward.

Comparison shots. Iron Man definitely looks better with added height and bulk. My preferred size for Iron Man is the Armorized version.

Both Cap and Iron Man are good figures. I like the size and look of Iron Man. I wish his leg articulation were better. I like Cap for his darker coloured uniform. Thanks for viewing!

A trivial error didn't include Cap extra head and hands. Probably they thought "it's a repaint, nobody cares"
