S.H.Figuarts Naruto Shippuden Kakashi Hatake

Finally got round to opening the S.H.Figuarts Kakashi. Before we get to the main review I like to wish all a Happy and Prosperous Lunar New Year!

Kakashi is one of my favourite anime characters. He has such a unique appearance, especially when wearing his headband slanted. I like his laid back attitude. He's not to be underestimated though. He will not hesitate to step up when duty calls. He constantly analyses situations and usually comes up with solutions. The figure captures his likeness very well. The paint apps are superb. The colours are bright and clean, just like in the anime. There's great sculpted detail on his attire. The whirlpool symbols on the back of his jacket and sleeves were all sculpted. So too the wrapping on his thigh and ankles. The brown pouch is on a peg and can be rotated and removed.

Accessories. He comes with an additional straight headband piece, two additional faces, two kunai, a copy of the Icha Icha Tactics novel, a right hand to hold the novel, a right hand with Chidori effect, a left hand with a large grip, a left hand for pulling up his headband, a pair of gripping hands, a pair of hands with two extended fingers and a pair of open hands. The paint on the novel is great. The Chidori effect is textured and has some energy spikes emanating from it. Though there's lots of great accessories here, I really would have loved one more and that's a figure of Pakkun, one of his dogs which he has a contract with.

The different heads work differently. The default head and the slanted headband are one piece whereas the other two faces and the horizontal headband piece are separate. The hair is separate from them and is to be used on top of either of the headbands. The headband attaches to the ball joint of his neck and this can be a little frustrating to do.

Here's a closer look at his different faces. The eyes were painted very well. You can even make out the pattern on his Sharingan.

He has a hand specifically to pull up his headband. I haven't been able to pose it quite right just yet.

He has excellent articulation. He's got a double dumbbell joint upper neck, a ball joint lower neck, chest expansion, dumbbell joint shoulders, bicep swivel, elbow hinge, ball hinge wrists, torso pivot, ball hinge waist, peg hinge hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, ball pivot ankles and toe hinge.

The following pics show the neck and hip joints. He's able to bend forwards a bit at the torso and at the hips. It's no ab crunch but it helps.

Time for some action.

Comparison shots. Kakashi is taller than both Naruto and Sasuke.

Kakashi is an excellent figure! Now hopefully Sakura comes along soon. Thanks for viewing!
