Marvel Legends Series What If Captain Carter

From the What If...? series here's Captain Carter.

I love the What If...? TV series. I'm liking what's been shown so far. In terms of story I like the world losing its heroes one the best. In terms of costume design Captain Carter is the stand out for me. It's the most eye-catching with the Union Jack design. The figure too is eye-catching. The colours are vibrant and has that animated look. There's not a lot of sculpted detail. The harness was sculpted, as were some of the costume elements. The belt and glove cuffs are separate pieces stuck on. The belt has several pouches on it and I like that they painted the buckle. The paint apps are good. The paint goes into the diaphragm joint and I like that they even painted in the little portion on her shoulders next to the harness. Her upper torso appears shinier than the rest of her body. It doesn't bother me too much. Peggy grew in stature and it certainly shows. I like her height and proportions. She's got a great head sculpt. I think she has a good likeness. Her facial features and hair were well done.

Some close-ups of her face. The eyes were very well done.

Accessories. She only comes with her shield. The paint detail on it is excellent. I would have liked if she came with extra hands and also a pistol. The included BAF parts are the arms for the Watcher.

Her shield is smaller than Steve's.

It has straps for which to hold it by. Her grip on it is very loose in her left hand. The shield will flop around and may even drop off.

To make it more secure, I simply pulled the strap over her thumb. That will keep the shield in place. The shield is quite secure on her right arm with the lower strap placed on her glove cuff.

Articulation. She's got a dumbbell joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ball joint torso, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, and ankle swivel, hinge and pivot. She cannot look up due to her hair. She can look down decently. Head rotation is hindered by her hair and collar. The elbows and knees have very good range. She can hardly bend forward. She can bend back and tilt to the sides a little. The ankle joints are wobbly on my figure. The ankle hinge is stiff and ratcheted and can only go one click forward and one click back. Getting her to point her feet up takes some effort as it is hindered by the "boot cuffs".

(Sticky tack was used in order for her to hold the shield in this way.)

Comparison shots.

Captain Carter is a good figure. My main gripe are her ankles. Thanks for viewing!

  1. Is a head swap with the old Peggy figure possible, or is it too big?

  2. This is a fantastic looking figure. Quite the difference with her original figure, but she was much bigger and stronger in the shows. Looks great. Can't wait until she arrives.

  3. Yooo, I love your reviews. I was just wondering if when you review Strange, we could see him with his old comic accurate cloak from the Dormammu wave comic figure?

  4. Really nice design and still the best of the What If series figures.

  5. @PVG - the head will look too big on the old Peggy figure.

@PowerNevada4115 - Noted on the Dr Strange cloak.

  6. Because it's based on an animated character, I believe this should have no trouble fitting in with comic-based Marvel Legends
