Marvel Legends 80th Anniversary The Mighty Thor

Here's a look at the Marvel Legends 80th Anniversary classic Thor.

This new Thor looks great! Or I should say the new old Thor. He looks like he stepped right out of the comics. The Alex Ross inspired head sculpt looks great, and I like the size and proportions. His eyes were painted very well. I love the vibrant blue used. They stand out and you can even make out their shininess from a distance. His hair has good shape and detail and has some light yellowish shading in it. The helmet with the stuck on wings look good as well. Unfortunately there's a noticeable line running across the helmet on my figure. The body is new. There's a good amount of detail on his costume. The black areas is textured and there's wrinkles visible. The midsection with the belt is an overlay piece. The sculpted T buckle is gold in colour which makes it stand out a little more. The best bit of detail would have to be the wrappings of his boot. They look very nice. The windswept cape is stuck on at the shoulder area. It is not removable. It has a nice flowy look to it and I like that it has some black wash on it. The cape is quite stiff and heavy, and will weigh the figure back.

Accessories. He comes with Mjolnir and an extra left fist. Mjolnir looks great. The top is textured and has a bit of shading on it. The best part would have to be the inscription which was sculpted on. There's nice detail for the handle. I would have preferred it to be longer though. The strap I feel is too long. I would have liked if he came with a right fist, a right open hand and a gripping left hand.

Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel and up and down hinge right wrist, swivel hinge left wrist, ball joint torso, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot. He can look up and down just a bit. He can hardly turn his head due to his hair and the raised cape. You can force it by lifting his hair over his cape but he will wind up looking downwards. The torso joint allows good bend to the sides and back. He can only bend forward a little bit.

Comparison shots.

Great figure! If only he could turn his head properly... Thanks for viewing!
