Marvel Legends Series Nightcrawler (Wendigo BAF)

The rest of the X-men vintage series will be put up at another time hopefully. I did take some photos but they did not turn out as good as I would have liked. Might be due to a lack of enthusiasm... Decided to switch over to the Wendigo BAF series and to characters I've more interest in, such as Nightcrawler.

Guess what! I got done with Nightcrawler in no time. He's such an awesome figure. I had a lot of fun fiddling with him. He's so much fun to pose. He's one of the best Legends figures ever! Nightcrawler is wearing his classic costume which I'm familiar with. The head on the other hand I've no idea when or where he was depicted this way. He has a youthful appearance. He also has a bit of a demonic look. Those slanted eyebrows and yellow eyes contribute to that. He kinda reminds me of those modern demons we see on TV. The hair has some blue shading in it. Only at the front though, the back has none. Nightcrawler features an all new, slim body. It's even slimmer than Spider-man's. The articulation is excellent which you'll see in a bit. The glove and boot details were painted on. They did not do a good job of that. The tail is pre-posed and is not removable.

Accessories. He comes with two alternate heads, an extra open right hand and his cutlass. The included BAF part is the left arm of Wendigo.

I've put the close-ups together so it's easier for you to compare them. The following is of the neutral, default head.

The next head sculpt has him with teeth showing and wearing a hint of a smile. From a different angle he also comes across more demonic. This is the head I like most and will use for display.

He's wearing a furious, screaming expression on the last head. It'll be great for action scenes. The area at and around his forehead has been darkened. I think it's to try and re-create how his look from the comics. The forehead area is sometimes blackened out.

Just to better show you the cutlass. It has nice detail on the grip and the blade has a nice metallic shine. His grip on it is very firm. You have to pry open his fingers to get him to hold it. The gripping right hand has swivel and up and down hinge which is different from his open hands.

He's got great articulation! He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, butterfly joints, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists (open hands), ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot. And the tail may be rotated. Almost all the joints have good range. He can look up and down very well. He cannot raise his arms fully due to the design of his costume. His costume also restricts the butterfly joints a bit. The ab crunch works superbly! He's able to bend forward at least two and a half clicks and just as much backwards. Another notable thing are the hips. He is able to spread his legs quite a fair bit. Very nice!

Comparison shots.

Awesome figure! He looks great and has excellent articulation. I hate to do it but it looks like it's time to replace the Toy Biz version. Thanks for viewing!

  1. Man, I can't wait for this one. Shame about some of the slop, but I think I'll be okay with it.

  3. Awesome looking figure! My only gripe is the younger head sculpt. NC is not a teen. Will definitely be getting this one.
