Here's a look at the Marvel Legends Colossus from the Warlock BAF series.
This figure is of Colossus in his modern costume. I'm not sure when he wore this to be honest. Maybe Utopia? It's not my preferred look for him but it's growing on me. The figure looks good in fact. The head sculpt is nice. What's more interesting is the body which is an all new mould. He's tall and imposing and I like the proportions. The arms have nice sculpted detail. The hands especially look really nice. The lines were sculpted on his fingers and palms as well. His arms are gun metal in colour and they have some black wash on them. The gauntlets are separate pieces stuck on. The gold paint apps on them is patchy. The costume details were mostly painted. The paint apps here are good.
Accessories. He comes with an alternate bearded head. I haven't been keeping up with what's going on in the comics. From what I gather the look is based on his appearance in the Extraordinary X-men. The head won't be comic accurate with this body. But I guess it saves us some trouble should we want to custom one. The included BAF parts are the head and a saw attachment for Warlock.
I like his bearded look. He looks meaner and more badass. His hair and beard are metallic dark grey in colour. Black was painted around his eyes which help them stand out more. I forgot to mention that there's dark grey around his eyes on the default head.
Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, elbow hinge, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, calf swivel (below the boot top) and ankle hinge and pivot. He can look up and down very well. The elbows bend less than ninety degrees due to the gauntlets. The gauntlets also restrict him from flexing his hands outwards. The ab crunch allows two clicks forwards and one click back.
Comparison shots.
Nice figure! I like it more than I thought I would. Thanks for viewing!
(In case you're waiting for further updates. The next one will be tomorrow hopefully. I'm busy but I'll try to do one up. )
Thanks for these reviews and photos! Really appreciate them. Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteLoved the pics!
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna wait on Hasbro to give us a classic 70s Colossus. The modern version is alright but can't get into that costume.
