Pokemon have descended on Changi Airport! And where there are Pokemon, there will be Pokemon Trainers. Including yours truly. Today is the first day of the event and I did not want to miss out on any of the action.
Upon stepping out of the elevators to the Departure Hall at Terminal 3, I could already see the massive Pikachu in the distance. Look at the size of that thing! It stands around seven metres tall. Wow! I'm gonna need lots more Pokeballs and Razz Berries if I'm gonna catch this monster. Lol!
Next to Pikachu is the Gingerbread House where we can get get a glimpse of Santa's Workshop and Mrs Claus' Confectionery, which are filled with toys and yummy delights. In case you're wondering what the white specks are in the above and below pics, it is "snow". "Snow" is forecast to fall at certain times of the day. There's nothing quite like snow to get you in the festive mood.
The main reason I went down today was so as to catch the Pikachu Parade. It was the first ever Pikachu Parade to be held in Singapore and it would only be held for that one day only. There was no way I was going to miss it! The huge crowd which turned up made things very squeezy.
But my discomfort faded quickly as soon as the ten adorable Pikachus came into view. They looked so cute as they marched and bobbed in! They performed and danced to two songs. I didn't take too many photos. Instead I took some videos.
Needless to say a huge crowd followed them wherever they went. As much as I wanted to take more photos I knew I wouldn't have another opportunity. So over to Terminal 2 I went.
You can still catch Pikachu at the Meet-and-Greet sessions during the weekends until 1 January 2016. There will be no Meet-and-Greet session on 3 December 2016.
A wild Snorlax appears! Not one but three! How I wish I could catch one on Pokemon Go... The Terminal 2 Departure Hall is where the Snorlax Garden is located. Snorlax is one of my favourite Pokemons as we love doing the same things, that is eating and sleeping! The Snorlax on display is said to be life-sized. I'm not sure about that. I think they are bigger. Anyway it is great to see them!
I love the sleeping ones. They look so peaceful. You just want to cuddle up with them.
Other activities you can do include the Pokemon Z-Moves and the Narikiri Face Painting. You'll need to have a smart phone in order to participate. You'll need to get a code from the pokemonatchangi site. These kiosks are located at the T2 and T3 Departure Halls.
To practice your Z-moves you just follow the instructions on screen and you will start powering up your chosen Pokemon. You can only select either Rowlet, Litten and Popplio which are new characters from Pokemon Sun & Moon. By the way isn't today also the release date of the game. Hmmm... wonder if it's a coincidence. Getting back Z-Moves, a video will be recorded of you and you can share it on social media. There is some additional time allotted so you can wave or do whatever you want to record.
In Narikiri Face Painting your face will be turned to look like Pikachu's. A video of you will be recorded as well. Be sure to retrieve your videos within two weeks, after which your videos will no longer be available.
The above are the kiosks at Terminal 2. The below is at Terminal 3. Oh hey! There's Lunala and Solgaleo!
Various Pokemon can be found in the three terminals and you can hunt for them if you are game. There are 26 Pokemon to be found. Take note, some Pokemon will only be available after 5 December 2016. Take a selfie with at least three of them and you can stand a chance to win some Pokemon merchandise. For more details click the following link:
You can also find the list of Pokemon there.

I think most will be interested in the limited edition Pokemon plush toys which are available exclusively at Changi Airport. There are nine to collect and they include Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Eevee, Charmander, Squirtle, Rowlet, Litten and Popplio. They can be purchased for SGD$9.90 with a minimum spend of SGD$60 in the public area at Changi Airport.
