Here's a look at the Marvel Legends 3.75" Groot and Rocket Raccoon.
I haven't been this excited for a Marvel 3.75" figure in awhile. Groot is the main reason why. He finally completes the core group of the Guardians of the Galaxy (GOTG) in the 3.75" scale. On top of that he was very well sculpted. I love the amount of detail put into him, especially for his skin. Or I should say bark. It also has a great amount of black shading on it. Very nice! One area which bothers me a little is where the branches extend out from his head on his right side. That portion there looks to have been stuck on and it shows. His gold eyes stand out well against the dark tone of his bark. He's wearing the uniform the team wore at one time in the comics. Again there's great detail. The uniform is textured and the buttons and trimmings were sculpted. There's also nice wrinkle detail. I really wish the trimming were red instead of white. I prefer the red trim uniform. It would also match with the other released members. I guess it's no biggie, I'll just have to get it repainted. The pouches and "skirt" section is one separate piece.
Rocket Raccoon is the same figure that was released previously. It's just that his uniform has the white trim instead of red, just like Groot's. There's not much to add except to say that the paint apps are superb.
Rocket comes with the exact same gun as with previous versions. He can only hold it in his right hand.
Articulation. Groot has a ball joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, ball hips, swivel hinge knees and ankle hinge and pivot. He cannot look up or down.
Rocket has only a ball joint neck and a ball joint tail.
Comparison shots. I like how tall Groot is.
Groot is a great figure! Like I mentioned before I would have preferred if their uniforms had the red trim. If you prefer the white trim for your GOTG team, you can get this along with the Starlord and Gamora two-pack. That set features Starlord in the white trim uniform while Gamora is the same figure you see below. Thanks for viewing!
Oh wow!
