Marvel Legends Series Symbiote Costume Spider-man & The Shocker (Sandman BAF)

Here's a look at the Marvel Legends Symbiote Spider-man and the Shocker.

Symbiote Spider-man is a repaint of the "Pizza" Spider-man. I should say "The Raft" Spider-man for the head sculpt used. Symbiote Spidey has the big eyes. The paint apps are okay for the most part. The lines are straight. There are just some spots on the logo which were not properly covered. The black circles on the white patch on the back of his hands indicate that this is the symbiote costume. That's where he shoots organic webbing from as compared to web-shooters which he normally uses.

I have a soft spot for The Shocker. He's one of the first Spider-man villains I came to know of. I had a recording of a "Spider-man and His Amazing Friends" episode featuring him which I watched countless times. The figure is based on his modern appearance. I don't really like this look and would have preferred to get a figure of him in his classic costume, that is V-shaped vest look. I also don't like how they did his eyes. His right eye is bigger than his left. He just looks awkward. The body largely reuses the Bucky Captain America body. Some new parts were used such as the gauntlet forearms and the plated knee pads. The gauntlets were well done and has good detail. They have knocks and dents in them and I like the worn gun metal colour. The knee pads should really be of the safe colour. They spoil his overall look. The paint apps here again are okay. The lines are pretty clean and straight.

A close-up of his gauntlets. I love the detail on them.

Accessories
Symbiote Spidey comes with an additional pair of wall crawling hands. The included Sandman BAF parts are a spiked ball and a hammer head.

The Shocker comes with a pair of "vibro" effect parts. They are the same as the ones that came with Havok. They are orangey yellow here. He also comes with the right leg of the Sandman BAF.

Articulation
Spider-man has a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, butterfly joints, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot. The joints are very tight on my figure. I tried loosening them up with hot water but they still remain tight. Do take care if your figure has tight joints as well.

The Shocker has a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot.

Comparison shots. I like both this and the Symbiote Spidey from the Red Hulk BAF series. If I really had to pick one I guess it would be this one for the better articulation.

I like the Symbiote Spidey. The Shocker not so much because of the eyes and the knee pads. Thanks for viewing!
