I just received my set of the Marvel Legends Red Onslaught series! First up Mockingbird.
Mockingbird is a great looking figure. She's in her modern look which I prefer over her classic appearance. The body is an all new sculpt. It's not just paint on a smooth body here, the costume has some wrinkles in it and I think this suits her very well. The bracers, buttons and belt were all sculpted. I like the gun metal colour of her bracers, She wears some thick looking leg guards. They have some nice detail on them. There are dents visible in the front and the straps and buckles at the back were all sculpted. The paint apps are okay. The line where the white meets the black is not as clean as I would have liked. And the white on her thighs do not align properly. It's especially noticeable from the back. You may not be able to tell from the pics. The dark areas of her costume are not entirely black. Some parts are actually dark navy blue in colour. I think the navy blue works better than black.
She has a cool feature and that is she is able to remove her glasses. There are slots in her hair where they attach to and they can stay on very well. The glasses are translucent yellow with the white frame painted on. With her glasses off we can now have a better look at her head sculpt. She resembles Adrianne Palicki quite a bit who plays the character on the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D TV series which is interesting considering this figure is supposed to based on the comics. I wouldn't mind if Hasbro gives us the live action sculpts this way as long as the figure looks good overall. I'm considering getting a custom of her based on her appearance in the TV series done. I like the skin tone of the figure. Her facial details were painted very well. She's wearing shiny light purplish lipstick.
Accessories. She comes with her batons which can connect to form a short staff. The batons are the same ones that came with Daredevil. They are silver in colour here. The BAF parts she comes with are the shoulder armour and torso of Red Onslaught.
Articulation. She has a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ball joint torso, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot. Her hair severely hinders the use of her neck articulation. It is possible to get her to look in other directions if you force it. The torso joint has a good range of movement. It's much better than what we've seen on previous female figures.
Comparison shots.
Great figure! I like the new body sculpt. Thanks for viewing!
