This here is the classic Baron Helmut Zemo. They went a little too classic for my liking though. I would have preferred him without the "handle" on his belt. The handle is flexible so at least he's still able to bend forward. Actually maybe I'll just snip it off. The belt is a separate piece. It was cast in the gold and looks a little plasticky. Some metallic gold would help. The shoulder fur is separate too. They were inserted into the shoulder joints. They will not hinder arm articulation. There's nice detail for the fur. The black spots were painted on. The spots are not solid coloured. They have a patchy sort of look which suits the appearance of it on fur really well. The fur at his boots were stuck on. The torso is new. They cut a slot in the chest to stick the big "collar" in. There's not a lot of muscle showing which is good for him. The upper arms reuses those from the Red Skull. The forearms are new. The lines on his gloves were very well applied. They painted the lines on the hands as well. The boots are supposed to have the lines as well but they don't have any. The legs reuses those from Bucky Cap.
The head sculpt and the "collar" piece were done really well. I especially like that the lines were sculpted. And to top it off dark purple lining was applied in them. The head sculpt is new and looks great. You can make out the shape of his nose and also his brows through his mask. He looks pretty menacing. The gold head band isn't as big as on the previous figure. The circular band was sculpted whereas the pieces on the sides are separate pieces stuck on.
Accessories. He comes with an extra set of gripping hands and his sword. I should have taken the pic with the back of the hands showing. They have the lines on them as well. This set of hands have the usual swivel hinge wrist articulation. I would have liked if he came with a right fist. And also a pistol. Fortunately he can borrow one from the previous versions.
The sword is the same one we've seen previously from the Mandroid wave. This sword has a black handle and a gold pommel and cross-guard.
Articulation. He's got a dumbbell joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel and up and down hinge default right wrist, swivel hinge left wrist, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, boot swivel and ankle hinge and pivot. He can look up and down quite decently, and also tilt his head a little. The ab crunch allows one solid click forward and back. The belt handle is flexible so he is still able to bend forwards like you see below.
Now for some action poses.
Comparison shots.
Great figure! He just needs a couple more accessories. Thanks for viewing!
Great to have you back! Nice review as always. Can't wait to get him :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely looking out for this one. It's been a few years since I tracked down one of the Walgreens Legends but this guy I have to have.
ReplyDeleteAww, man. I was just saying the other day how Walgreen's doesn't seem to be interested in action figures anymore. I haven't seen anything new in a Walgreen's in like two years, and all my stores have are sporadic Rogue One figures from year ago. And now they get an other exclusive, and a cool one at that! This one is going to be tough to get!
ReplyDeleteThanks all! Hope all of you manage to get him!
