Marvel Legends The Infinity Saga Odin

"Asgard is not a place; never was. This could be Asgard. Asgard is where our people stand." Do figures count? If that's the case my shelf is Asgard. Lol.

Odin is looking a little lacklustre. I don't recall his armour looking this dull. I'm okay with the gun metal areas, that's fine. I feel that the gold should be stronger and more vibrant. Not only is it not vibrant enough, it was quite poorly applied as well. It's quite splotchy. The rings around the top two circles of his armour do have a metallic look to them. It's of the wrong colour though. The look of the armour is spoilt by the swirly plastic. There are a lot of rings and dark patches which shouldn't be there. The "belt" section is a separate piece stuck on. The gauntlets were sculpted. The brown sleeves and pants are leather like and are textured. The boots have good detail. I like that they gave it that bit of silver paint detail. The ankles are wobbly and are quite frustrating when posing. The cape has a good flowy look to it. It covers his left shoulder and it will hinder articulation there. The best part of the figure would have to be the head sculpt. I think the likeness is good. The facial features were all very well done. The beard looks great and also his hair. I like the way it turned out. The base is grey with the white was applied. The eye-patch is decent. It has a bit of sculpted design on it and is textured. It appears more leather like though. I looked up some images and it should be metallic.

A close-up of his face. Here you can better see the facial lines and the scars around his left eye. They did an excellent job with the paint work here.

The swirly plastic of his armour is quite an eyesore. The front can't be helped. A good thing the back is covered by his cape. It looks like he got hit hard there. The hole is where you can peg the cape in.

Accessories. He comes with an alternate smiling head, a helmet, a right fist, a left open hand and his spear, Gungnir. Gungnir is quite impressive. There's a great amount of sculpted design work done on it. It's really nice. And I like the shiny gold plastic used for it as well.

This is his smiling alternate head. He looks pretty happy. His hair is different here. It flares out at the ears and has curls at the end.

The helmet looks great. I'm liking the gold plastic used here. It has a shine to it. With some light it can appear metallic. The gold of his armour should be something like this. The colour of the spear matches this at least. There's a good amount of detail on the helmet. I'm thankful there's no swirly plastic issues here. The plastic used is soft and flexible.

The helmet has a bit of design on the back as well.

The helmet may be used on the alternate head as well. However it will get stretched more and it sits a little higher on his head.

Articulation. He's got a dumbbell joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel and up and down hinge wrists (default gripping hands), ball joint waist, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, ankle swivel and hinge and pivot. He can look down a little bit. He cannot look up much due to his hair. Due to the cape he cannot raise his left arm full. He can still stretch it out to the side. There's only a little bend for the ball joint waist. The ankle hinge is ratcheted and it makes posing him frustrating at times. The ankles are loose and he cannot balance on one leg. The cape will hinder low poses.

Comparison shots.

Odin is a decent figure. I like the head sculpts and accessories. The wobbly ankles is annoying. Thanks for viewing!

  2. For that casual clothes shot, whose arms did you swap with Hydroman?
