Okay not a hundred but he cost more than I would have liked to have paid. When it comes to Target exclusives though it's better to get one before prices go even higher... I still haven't got Beach Head etc...
Hasbro did a great job with Major Bludd. I really like the look of him. He looks really mean, especially with that a nasty scar running down through his left eye and that sinister snarl. I'm also liking the moustache and the applied 5 o'clock shadow. I didn't know he had a white streak in his hair. Actually has he ever taken off his helmet? The body I think reuses that of the Cobra Infantry, the left arm and upper legs most certainly. Am not too sure about the torso as it's covered up on both characters. The steel tip boots are new, and of course his cybernetic arm. I always thought that he just wore some protective armour on his arm, didn't think it was fully cybernetic. Perhaps something that happened in the comics? The arm looks solid and sturdy. The fingers look quite creepy. Major Bludd's armour is thick and and nice sculpted detail on it. The belt is a separate piece. I like that they painted the buckle and whatever those cylindrical looking things are. Gas grenades maybe. The holster is strapped down on his thigh. One thing which annoys me is the "different levels" of his shoulders. He's got the shoulder armour on his right and there's none on his left.
Just to show you his cybernetic arm. There's some gears sculpted inside. The shoulder armour is on a hinge and it allows shoulder articulation.
Some close-ups of his face.
Accessories. He comes with his helmet, a bunch of dog tags, a backpack, two rockets, a rocket launcher type gun and a revolver like gun.
The rockets may be inserted into the rocket launcher. That's his primary weapon and it looks similar to the one with the classic RAH figure. Come to think of it maybe he accidentally blew his arm off, hence the cybernetic arm.
The rockets may be placed on his backpack. They do not fit well though and will drop out with the slightest touch. The rocket launcher may be pegged on the the side of his backpack. And the revolver may be stored in the holster.
I think the dog tags are too thick and they contrast too much with his armour. I prefer his look without them.
Here he is fully equipped.
Articulation. He's got a ball hinge upper neck, ball joint lower neck, ball hinge shoulders, butterfly joints, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge right wrist, swivel and up and down hinge left wrist, ab crunch, ball joint waist, ball hips with drop down hinge, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, boot swivel and ankle hinge and pivot. The armour hinders him from looking down. The helmet will get raised when he looks up. It's worse if he's also wearing the dog tags. The butterfly joints have good range, especially towards the back. The armour is flexible and allows good use of the ab crunch. He can bend about two clicks forward and about two and a half clicks back.
Comparison shots.
Great figure! Thanks for viewing!
He's pretty awesome looking although I wish he had come with a few more rockets. The dogtags do look oversized, too, which is a shame. Still, great headsculpt and that revolver is very, very cool.
ReplyDeleteGreat looking figure. Unfortunately I am fed up with this Hasbro/Target exclusive nonsense, especially when I see people post on social media grabbing six at a time.
ReplyDeleteI'm going from memory here, so don't judge me:
ReplyDelete"When you're feeling low and woozy,
Slap a fresh clip into your Uzi.
Assume the proper fighting stance
and make those suckers jump and dance!"
I mean, take it all in--can you IMAGINE in your wildest dreams seeing that printed on a kids' toy today? It was truly a great time to be alive.
Brother, you do a fantastic job displaying and reviewing these figures. Keep up the good work.
