MODOK requires some assembly. There are no instructions but you should have no problem putting him together. He comes with an alternate angry face, a right fist and a gripping left hand for him to grip the joystick thingy.
MODOK has come to the fore in recent times. He's the main villain in The Avengers game and he will soon be appearing in his own cartoon series. That may be a reason for his release in the line. Whatever the case it's great that he's here! My Toybiz one is showing its age and was in need of an upgrade. It's not easy keeping toys with the weather over here...
Here is MODOK assembled. He's big! Even bigger than the Toybiz version. I like the size and bulk of him. He's got a great face sculpt. There's quite a bit of facial lines. I like the look of him. There's some shading on his face which brings out the sculpt more. The colour of his lips was nicely done. There's good detail for his hair and it's got some light brown shading in it. His chair is gold in colour and has some nice detail on it. I really like that that they did some bronze panel lining. He's already quite clean looking and without it he would be far too clean.
Speaking of clean. The vertical jet effect piece is in need of some shading. It doesn't really match up with the lower blast piece which has some wash and shading. MODOK seems to sit slightly slanted forward on the effect piece. I'll have to try reattaching it again to see if I can fix it. Hopefully this is not the case with your piece.
Close-ups of the heads.
You can swap out the faces fairly easily. Just be careful not to scrape any paint off with your nails.
Articulation. He's got ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ball hips, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot. The joystick controller is on a ball joint and there's swivel at the circular portion at the bottom of his chair and also at the jet effect piece.
Comparison shots. What did I tell you about my Toybiz MODOK... The colour is fading... I'll definitely be using this new version.
Great figure! Thanks for viewing!
Glad to see you back! Also glad to see that M.O.D.O.K. is beginning to be available; I'm super-excited for this figure. They did him (and Kirby) justice on this. Great post and excellent photos as always!
ReplyDeletewhat kind of weather do you have?
ReplyDeleteSuch a odd character but there is so much goodness in this figure. Love the photo with Captain Marvel. Disturbing but so funny. MODOK needs love too.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you're back! And LOL, the Super Hero Squad Show references.
