Hi all! It's been awhile. Projects and illness have prevented me from posting last month. Things should settle down in December and I hope to post more regularly then. For now here's a look at the figures from the Marvel Legends The Defenders boxset.
I really love the packaging. I love the art and the comic style front. I usually throw away the boxes but this one I will keep. Click images to enlarge.
The figures were poorly packed. Three out of four of my figures have bent limbs...
First up Jessica Jones who is the only new character in the set. This is the comic version of her in her Jewel costume. I don't like this look and I very much prefer her Netflix appearance. Still this is a good figure. It has a good likeness. She has a fresh look. Like she just stepped out of the shower. The windswept hair is interesting. It suits her. She is able to fly in the comics. I'm not sure if you can make it out but there's actually some dark pink shading in her hair. The body reuses the Silk body. The costume details were all painted on. Metallic paint was used for the blue areas and for the pink jewel at her waist.
A close up of her face. The eyes and lips were very well painted.

Next up Luke Cage in his modern appearance. I'm not sure when he wore this. The metal "boot tops" throws me off. I would prefer he didn't have them. I would have liked if it were his jeans all the way. The figure is basically the same figure as the one from the Thunderbolts set. The gauntlets on his forearms are new, as is the belt around his waist which is a separate piece. The are some paint differences. The yellow is of a lighter tone here and his jeans of course are blue in colour instead of black.

Luke Cage's best bud, the Iron Fist. This figure is the exact same figure as the one we got in the Dormammu wave. Here he is bare chested. The colours used are clean and bright which I quite like. Don't mind his "cowboy" stance. Packaging issues which I didn't fix...
He does not come with his chi effect hands but you can use the ones we got previously with him.
What he does come with is a pair of flame effect pieces.

The last figure of the set is Daredevil, which is yet another repaint.
They reversed the colours here. The majority of his costume is lighter red with his gloves and boots of a darker tone. I personally prefer the previous version from the Hobgoblin wave. He comes with his billy clubs. I quite like the shiny red used with the metallic ends. One more piece of paint apps I forgot to mention. The buckles for the straps on his leg were painted. Nice!
Here's how the Defenders compare with each other.
Articulation
Iron Fist has a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, butterfly shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, forearm swivel, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot.
Daredevil has a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot.
Jessica Jones has a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ball joint torso, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot. She can look down well. Up, not so much due to her hair. Looking to her left is also a little awkward for her due to her hair.
Luke Cage has a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot.
This is a great set. All good figures here. If you missed Luke Cage and Daredevil previously, this is a great opportunity to get them. My favourite of the bunch would have to be Luke Cage. I've been wanting a modern version of him. I just wish his jeans went all the way instead of those metallic coverings.
Thanks for viewing!
