Here's a look at the Marvel Legends Warlock BAF.
First the parts list:
Head and saw - Colossus
Torso - Sunfire
Right Arm - Shatterstar
Left Arm - Dazzler
Right Leg - Polaris
Left Leg - Cyclops
Warlock wasn't on my radar before he was announced but I'm glad he's here. He's a fantastic figure! The sculpt is outstanding. There's lots of great detail. The whole body has various panels, vents, circuitry and bolts sculpted. And to top it off there's a black wash on his gold exterior. Great stuff! The joints are so well integrated. The shoulder design for example is similar to how the shoulder joint looks. I got it mixed up on a couple occasions and tried to move the arm in the wrong direction. The head sculpt is superb. I love the whacky, somewhat fearful expression. The pupils were painted and are not holes as it might appear. The teeth were sculpted. The wiry "hair" is gorgeous. There are tubes which run from his arms and connect into the holes on his back. They are not long enough and will come out when the arms are moved a distance away.
Accessories. He has a saw attachment which can be swapped with either hand. There's nice detail on it as well and I like the look of the saw blades.
Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ball joint torso, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot. He can look up and down very well. The elbow and knee joints offer a very good range of motion. The wrist hinge can hardly be used due to the forearms. The tubes will come out once the arms are moved a certain distance away. The torso can only be rotated. The hip joints on my figure are very loose. Ankle articulation cannot be fully used but what they can do is enough.
Comparison shots. Warlock is tall but not the tallest Hasbro made BAF, that honour still belongs to Giant Man.
Great figure! Fantastic detail and great articulation. Thanks for viewing!
Great review and photos.
ReplyDeleteThis will be my favourite BAF in years, as I looove the New Mutants. I hope the rest of the crew will be made at some point.
actually, the tallest Hasbro baf is Fin Fang Foom, but if you mean modern times you're correct. nice review
ReplyDeleteWould like to see him posed with some MU...
ReplyDeleteNerd Toys- Thanks for the correction. Totally forgot about FFF.
ReplyDeleteHobgoblin - I'll try to take a photo of that
